Tianyan check shows that Audi FAW has a registered capital of 5.267 billion yuan, of which Audi and Volkswagen Group hold 60 per cent of the company, while FAW Group holds 40 per cent, which means that the company will be dominated by Audi and Volkswagen Group.

In addition to Audi FAW New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd., Audi also holds shares in two joint ventures, FAW-Volkswagen and SAIC-Volkswagen, but holds relatively few shares. To sum up, Audi currently has three joint ventures in China, including FAW-Audi, SAIC Audi and Audi FAW. Audi has more dominance in Audi FAW, which will focus on the development of new energy vehicles. According to Audi's new energy plan, the Audi brand will step up its research and production of electric vehicles in the future. Audi's pure electric models will reach 20 by 2025, and the product range of plug-in hybrid will be greatly expanded. Audi predicts that by 2025, about 1/3 of cars delivered to customers worldwide will be pure electric or hybrid models.

Audi's sales in China rose 5.4 per cent year-on-year to 726288 vehicles in 2020, below BMW's 777379 and Mercedes-Benz's 774382, according to the data. Audi sold 418188 vehicles in China in the first half of this year, less than BMW's 467064 and Mercedes-Benz's 441579. At present, Audi's most important partner in China is still FAW-Volkswagen. In a short time, compared with the new energy vehicle market, Audi has more obvious advantages in the traditional fuel vehicle market. At present, the sales of domestic Audi Q2L e-tron and Audi e-tron are very ordinary. Therefore, Audi will accelerate the development of new energy vehicles in the future, and about 1/3 of the cars delivered to customers worldwide will be pure electric or hybrid models by 2025.
