Data show that after DPCA reached a sales peak of 704800 vehicles in 2016, sales continued to decline, falling by 15.2%, 36.85%, 32.89%, 55.17% and 55.74% respectively from 2015 to 2020, with sales falling for five consecutive years compared with the same period last year. Of course, when sales were in the doldrums, DPCA also tried to change. In March this year, Citroen updated its products one after another, launching new Peugeot 4008, Peugeot 5008, new C3-XR, Versailles C5X and other new cars, but it seems difficult to drive the strong growth of the brand. On September 23, Dongfeng Citroen listed the Versailles C5X with a price of 14.37-186700 yuan. After the listing, it also caused some waves in the market, which was complained by netizens because of the different views on the model evaluated by car commentators. the car has also been pushed to the forefront. Figures show that Versailles sold 1530 vehicles in October and 5037 in November.
At present, DPCA is the representative of French car companies. Dongfeng Renault has been delisted and the DS brand is dying, while DPCA can still rely on Peugeot and Citroen to maintain the share of French brands in the domestic market. From the perspective of DPCA's products, more than 70% of its products are in the market competition range of 10-150000 yuan, and this market happens to be the main market for the layout of head independent brands and mainstream joint venture brands. French romantic design and racing genes are not as cost-effective, reliable, durable and fuel-efficient to move consumers more simply.
