However, judging from the annual sales announced by the major car companies, the market performance of most of the major car companies in 2021 is still relatively optimistic, such as FAW-Volkswagen, FAW Toyota, Guangzhou Automobile Honda, Dongfeng Nissan, etc., in the joint venture camp, and BYD, Xiaopeng, ideal, Lulai, etc., in the independent camp, all handed in good results in 2021.
First of all, let's take a look at the joint venture brand camp, including FAW-Volkswagen, FAW Toyota, Guangzhou Auto Toyota, Dongfeng Honda, Guangzhou Automobile Honda and Dongfeng Nissan, which have all announced their sales results in 2021. FAW-Volkswagen is the first to announce annual sales. In terms of sales volume, Accord is the carrying sub-model of Guangzhou Automobile Honda, with a cumulative sales of 201301 units for the whole year, followed by Haoying. Dongfeng Nissan (including Nissan and Qichen) sold a total of 1134889 vehicles this year, down 6.4% from a year earlier, including 1047073 Nissan-branded passenger cars and 87816 Qichen brands. Judging from the data, the Dongfeng Nissan brand alone outperformed any joint venture between Toyota and Honda in China. In terms of specific models, the seventh generation Teana sold a total of 163741 sets in the whole year, 513193 units in the Xuanyi series and 161152 units in Xiaoke. As for the new Qijun, which has just been replaced, the authorities have not announced its specific sales, but sales are expected to rise in December. Since the listing of the new Qijun, the monthly sales of the new Qijun have been maintained at about 4000 vehicles under the influence of three cylinders. in December, Zhengzhou Nissan listed the old four-cylinder Qijun, with prices of 189200 yuan and 192800 yuan respectively, which are more expensive than the new and old models. I don't know how the market is performing. From the market performance of Dongfeng Nissan, the chip shortage and the impact of the epidemic led to a decline in sales to a certain extent, but the listing of three-cylinder Qijun is also another important reason for the decline in sales.
Other car companies, Dongfeng Peugeot and Beijing Hyundai sales are significantly lower, of which Dongfeng Peugeot cumulative sales of 51056 vehicles in 2021, far less than the above joint venture brands, but sales growth of 74% compared with 2020, far exceeding the growth rate of the industry as a whole. In addition, as a joint venture brand that once sold more than one million vehicles a year, Beijing Hyundai's sales performance in recent years is mediocre, probably because the overall figure is not satisfactory, the official did not announce the overall sales in 2021, but just singled out several models with good performance, including Elantra's cumulative annual sales of more than 130000 vehicles and ix35's annual cumulative sales of 82924 vehicles.
In the luxury brand market, Lincoln did well in 2021, selling 91621 new cars for the year, mostly from domestic models. At present, three domestic models of adventurers, pilots and navigators are on sale under Changan Lincoln. At the Guangzhou Auto Show, the new medium-sized car Lincoln Z is officially pre-sold with a pre-price of 255000-342000. This is a Chinese special model, and its competitors include Cadillac CT5, Volvo S60, Genisse G70 and so on.
The car companies that take the lead in publishing results generally perform well, as can be seen from the market performance of the above car companies, but at the same time, there are also hidden worries in the market. at present, the competition among car companies is becoming more and more fierce, especially after the rise of independent brands. the living space of weak joint venture brands is reduced, and the development of joint venture brands at the bottom becomes more and more difficult.
