On January 5, Ian AION LX PLUS officially launched, the new car launched a total of four equipped models, the price range is 28.66-459600 yuan. As a modified model, the new car uses the latest family design, equipped with "sponge silicon anode battery", with a range of 1008km (CLTC operating conditions). It is understood that this is the first time in the world to achieve endurance super-1000km pure electric model.

From the point of view of appearance, there is still a certain difference between the new car and the Aion LX currently on sale, the front face of the new car has been greatly upgraded, the lines of the front face are more sporty, and it is equipped with an active intake grille, the bumper area under the front face is more prominent, and the T-shaped headlights on both sides continue the style of the current model, but it is larger than the current model. The rear part of the car uses basically the same design as the old model, with through taillights, while fine-tuning in the details, the visual effect has been improved.

In terms of body size, the length, width and height are 4835pm 1935pm 1685 and wheelbase 2920mm respectively. As a reference, the current Aion LX 2020 is 4786/1935/1685mm in length, width and height and 2920mm in wheelbase. By comparison, only the length of the car has increased by 49mm, mainly from the adjustment of the front part.

The interior design is basically the same as the current model, but the central control screen has increased from 12.3 inches to 15.6 inches, and the central control screen and full LCD instruments show different layouts. It is understood that the 15.6in central control screen integrates the ADIG4.0 intelligent Internet of things system, which can achieve non-inductive startup, new AR live navigation, DMS+OMS cockpit monitoring and other functions, while the cockpit system chip comes from Qualcomm 8155 chip.

On the power side, the new car will provide different motors with a maximum power of 180 and 360kw, with a peak torque of 350Nm and 700Nm. In terms of range, according to the configuration of different comprehensive operating conditions, the mileage is 600km, 650km and 1008km respectively. For comparison, the maximum power of the 2020 Ian LX is 135kw, 150kw and 300kw, respectively, with peak torque of 350Nm and 700Nm, and mileage of 520km, 600km and 650km.

From the point of view of the price, the price of the 2020 Aion LX is 2296-349600 yuan, of which the 80 Zhizheng version, 80D Zhizhen version and 80D Max version are 276600 yuan, 276600 yuan and 349600 yuan respectively, while the 2022 Aion LX PLUS is 28.66-459600 yuan. Ean AION LX PLUS has the highest range of super-1000km, becoming the first pure electric vehicle in the world to achieve long-range super-1000km, which has attracted a lot of attention. At this stage, mileage is still a major buying point for consumers to buy new energy vehicles, so more and more car companies begin to make a fuss on mileage. In January 2021, GAC Ean released a poster showing that its model with graphene-based super fast-charging battery could be recharged 80% in 8 minutes and its mileage could reach 1000km, which caused a lot of controversy at that time. In November 2021, GAC Eian released a poster showing that the Eian LX Plus pure electric model, which entered the latest batch of new energy vehicle promotion catalogue of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, adopted sponge silicon anode battery technology, becoming the first pure electric vehicle in the world to achieve battery life super-1000km. It should be noted that the comprehensive endurance condition is CLTC, not NEDC.

What is NEDC? After 2019, China's automobile industry has changed to the NEDC standard commonly used in Europe and Australia to measure the battery life of new energy vehicles, which is a set of European testing standards for vehicle energy consumption, but it is very old-fashioned, this set of standards is actually the product of the 1970s, and NEDC itself is not suitable for new energy vehicles which are completely different from the traditional fuel vehicle structure and operating conditions.

Therefore, in October 2021, the "driving cycle of Chinese vehicles", which is specially born for the Chinese automobile industry, was officially released, which is referred to as CATC, in which the passenger car part is called CLTC. With the release of CLTC operating conditions, more and more car companies test the pure electric mileage of new energy vehicles through the standard of driving range in CLTC operating conditions. However, the mileage tested in CLTC operating conditions is even longer than that in NEDC operating conditions, which makes many consumers unable to understand.

Although the score of CLTC is better than that of NEDC, it is also more in line with China's national conditions. Compared with NEDC,CLTC, low speed, medium speed and high speed are tested for a duration of 1800 seconds, and the average speed of the total operating condition is 29km/h, which is the lowest in mainstream operating conditions, and the idle (stop) time accounts for more than 20%, and the highest speed in high-speed conditions is only 114km/h. For pure electric vehicles, low average speed is beneficial to the energy consumption performance of pure electric vehicles, not to mention that pure electric vehicles will not generate excess energy consumption except for on-board appliances in the stop state, which explains why the mileage measured by pure electric vehicles using CLTC is longer than that of NEDC.

Although the battery life of the AION LX PLUS exceeds the 1000km, there will certainly be a discount in actual use, which may end up with 900km or lower, which still requires actual testing to get the results. However, this is also a big step forward in the new energy vehicle market, after all, most of those who claim to have a range above the 1000km are hybrid models, and as a pure electric model, this is undoubtedly an improvement.
