AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)01/06 Report--
According to the car quality website of the car complaint website, there are complaints from Weima owners who bought the Weima EX5 400in February 2019 and have now driven 50, 000 kilometers. In July 2021, the manufacturer upgraded the battery BMS of the car, and the driving range was significantly reduced after the upgrade. The same road conditions and driving environment used to drive 350km, but now it is only less than 260km. Later, it was found that after the upgrade, the battery charge was limited to about 5 degrees without the user's knowledge, which directly affected the driving range of more than 80 kilometers, harming the interests of consumers, and then communicating with the manufacturer many times through the phone did not solve the problem.
Learned from the car quality network, there are not a small number of such complaints. In fact, as early as July 2021, there have been feedback and complaints from car owners about the power locking of Weima electric cars. According to previous reports from the auto industry, some netizens posted online that the mileage of Weima EX5 had been seriously shrunk after the maintenance upgrade, and the vehicle was suspected to have been locked. The netizen said that Weimar carried out the power-locking operation without the owner's permission, and the actual driving range of the vehicle changed from the original 350km to the current 260km, which is a far cry from the 400km marked at the time of purchase. However, Weimar officials responded, saying that the problem was a recent feedback from individual users and was an occasional case.
However, since July 2021, more and more users have complained about the problem, including restrictions on batteries after system upgrades, reduced mileage caused by system upgrades, and battery locks that affect driving after remote upgrades. With regard to the problem of comprehensive complaints, a number of car owners believe that the mileage of the Weima EX5 has been seriously reduced after the upgrade of the system, and the vehicle is suspected to be locked. In the past six months, there have been more and more complaints about such problems, which means that the problem may not be an isolated case.
In addition, according to the "Chinese car Circle" report, the owner of Weima revealed to it that Weima will carry out an "excellent user for the New year" activity from December 23, 2021 to January 15, 2022, and lucky users who are randomly selected will be given a comprehensive vehicle inspection and a Jingdong card worth 200 yuan. However, many car owners found that cars that could have traveled 350 kilometers could only travel less than 300 kilometers after vehicle inspection, and car owners questioned that their vehicles might be "locked". To this end, a car owner specially produced a song "200 yuan cheated me", the lyrics revealed the sad feelings of the car owner inside and outside.
In recent months, there have also been a lot of reports about the fire of the Weima electric car. At about 4: 00 a.m. on December 20, 2021, a new energy vehicle suddenly caught fire at a charging station near Changjiang Road, Biyun Road, Zhengzhou. The owner of the car concerned said in an interview with the media that he bought an electric SUV of a domestic brand, which had only been used for about 8 months until spontaneous combustion, and immediately got out of the car to check after hearing an abnormal noise from the bottom of the vehicle while charging. As a result, the vehicle was on fire. A number of netizens pointed out that the burning new energy vehicle is suspected of Weima EX5.
Two days later, an electric car with license plate number Qiong BD16XXX caught fire along Conch Road, Jiyang District, Sanya City, at about 7 a.m. on December 22, 2021, according to the Southern Metropolis Daily. From the video, the burning electric vehicle is in the burning stage, the fire at the scene has been put out in time by Sanya fire rescue, and the fire has been brought under control, but the electric vehicle has been burned beyond recognition. According to Sina Automobile, the burning car in the video was burned beyond recognition by the Weima car logo hanging on the video.
What is more serious is that in October 2020, Weima broke out several fires in one month. On October 5, 2020, a parked Weima EX5 electric car caught fire by the side of the road and the whole vehicle was scrapped. On October 13, a Weima electric car in Shaowu, Fujian Province caught fire while charging, causing serious damage. On the evening of October 27th, a spontaneous combustion accident also occurred in Zhongguancun, Beijing. Residents around said they heard a violent explosion and a clear shock, and the scene was filled with a pungent smell. Finally, on October 28, 2020, Weimar filed a recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration, recalling 1282 Weima electric vehicles, and made it clear that the accident was caused by the quality of the battery.
What is "power lock"? "Lock up" is to lock the power of the battery, which is to lock the SOC (system-on-chip) window of the battery by upgrading and rewriting BMS (New Energy vehicle Battery Management system), redefining the voltage range of the battery to limit the battery's charge and consumption. For example, 100% of the power output can be achieved in the past, but now it can only reach 60%. If the battery capacity is reduced, the mileage must be greatly reduced.
"locking electricity" can definitely reduce the fire probability of electric vehicles, and its essence is to change the maximum charging voltage of the battery, which can effectively reduce most of the spontaneous combustion caused by charging, but it is not an effective measure to solve the problem of spontaneous combustion of electric vehicles. It sacrifices the cost of car performance and car experience. As for whether there is a "power lock" in Weima, the authorities have not responded publicly, but a number of car owners have pointed out that after upgrading the vehicle system, the charging power has been significantly reduced and the mileage has been significantly reduced, which is an objective thing.
Put aside Weima cars, in terms of "power lock", to some extent, the purpose of "power lock" is also for consumers to use the car better and improve the safety of consumers, but it is obviously a "palliative" way to solve the risk of fire, because it sacrifices car performance and car experience, and the irresponsible attitude of car companies can also be seen from the side. For consumers, product safety is important, but the car experience is also important. Perhaps the safety accidents that have occurred can not be avoided. What is more important is how to solve the problem and avoid similar problems. Instead of achieving their goals through some means, but ignoring the feelings of car owners.
