From the effect images currently exposed, the appearance of the new car uses a sedan body design, the front face uses the latest Peugeot family borderless grille style with fanged L-shaped daily lights, and the bumper is painted in a lot of black. the overall shape looks very sharp.

The side styling of the car body uses the classic sliding back coupe SUV shape, which is mainly designed with more sports elements, such as the new car window trim, exterior rearview mirror, wheel eyebrow and side skirt are all blackened. The body size is expected to be between the Peugeot 3008 4450mm and the Peugeot 308 SW 4636mm, and detailed parameters are subject to official announcement. The rear part of the car is expected to adopt the logo family design style, while the exhaust pipe will adopt the hidden design.

The interior has not been officially released yet, but it is expected to continue the Peugeot 3008 design, including a 10-inch 3D digital instrument and a 10-inch LCD central control screen.

In terms of power, the new car is expected to be equipped with a hybrid system composed of high and low power 1.6T engines and motors, which will provide four different power combinations, including two front-drive models and two four-wheel drive models, of which the 1.6t PHEV precursor version is 132kW and 165kW, and the four-wheel drive version maximum power is 221kW and 265kW, respectively. In addition, the 508 PSE model is also expected to be equipped with this four-wheel drive plug-in version of power.

It is understood that the Peugeot 4008 was used by a small Mitsubishi-based SUV from 2012 to 2017 and was later named 2008, but there has been news since 2018 that the 4008 will return on a larger 3008 sedan SUV. The news also shows that the 4008 model will compete with Audi Q3 Sportback, BMW X2 and lower-priced models such as Mazda CX-30 and Renault Arkana. Therefore, in the competitive market, the new Peugeot 4008 is also expected to compete with Audi Q3 Sportback, BMW X2 and Mazda CX-30 models.

In terms of sales performance, Dongfeng Peugeot sold 384005 vehicles, 406107 vehicles, 47000 vehicles and 263298 vehicles respectively from 2014 to 2017, while Dongfeng Peugeot sold only 28597 vehicles in 2020. judging from the data of these years, Dongfeng Peugeot achieved good results in 2015 and 2016 respectively, but then entered a downward trend. As for 2021, Dongfeng Peugeot has not yet released vehicle sales data for December 2021. According to the latest statistics, among Peugeot's sales in November 2021, Peugeot 4008 sold 1313 vehicles, and its cumulative sales from January to November in 2021 was 13131. It is the highest selling model, followed by Peugeot 408 with 1000 vehicles, and its cumulative sales from January to November 2021 is 11643. This was followed by Peugeot 508, with sales of 887 vehicles, with cumulative sales of 8021 vehicles from January to November 2021, while sales of the other models were mediocre.

It is worth mentioning that at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show, Dongfeng Peugeot announced the official launch of the new lion logo. At present, only Peugeot 308 models of Dongfeng Peugeot cars use the new lion logo.

The launch of the new 4008 creative version may become another major strategic layout for Dongfeng Peugeot after updating its brand LOGO.
