In December 2021, the retail sales volume of narrow passenger cars in China was 2,105,000, with a year-on-year decline of 7.9% and a month-on-month growth of 15.9%, among which 475,000 new energy passenger cars were sold, with a year-on-year growth of 128.9% and a month-on-month growth of 25.5%.
According to the statistics concerned by the automobile industry, according to the annual sales list of new energy automobile enterprises, the top three automobile enterprises are BYD Automobile, SAIC GM Wuling and Tesla China respectively, with sales volume of 584020 vehicles, 431130 vehicles and 320743 vehicles respectively, accounting for 45% of the new energy automobile market. In terms of single model, Hongguang MINIEV won the title of new energy vehicle sales with 395451 vehicles. Its popularity stimulated many brand automobile enterprises, such as QQ ice cream just launched by Chery and Dongfeng Scenery MINIEV to be launched in the future, which regarded Hongguang MINIEV as a direct competitor and competed with it for the market. In the annual list, we can also see a lot of mini-cars, such as Chery ants, Chang 'an Ben E-Star, SAIC Kelaiwei. In contrast, the reason why mini-cars can be sought after by the market is mainly because of their low pricing, which meets the needs of daily urban traffic, and is still relatively popular in the current new energy market, which is also the reason why more and more car companies have begun to lay out mini-cars.
The second and third places are Tesla models, including 169853 Model Y retail sales in 2021, 150890 Model 3 retail sales, and 320743 cumulative retail sales of the two models. Although it is far inferior to Hongguang MINIEV, Tesla is still very strong. It is worth mentioning that the Model Y was launched on New Year's Day in 2021, but sales exceeded the Model 3 during the year, partly because the Shanghai-made Model 3 began to supply overseas markets, and on the other hand SUV was more sought after by consumers than cars.
As the leader of domestic new energy vehicles, BYD's sales volume of new energy vehicles continues to record high, among which Qin PLUS DM-i bears the brunt, with annual retail sales of 110865 vehicles, second only to Hongguang MINIEV, Model Y and Model 3. Han EV annual sales of 87082 vehicles, BYD this year will launch Han DM-i model, perhaps will drive Han to the peak. In addition, Song PLUS DM-i annual sales 73537 vehicles, Qin PLUS EV annual sales 55246 vehicles. At present, EV models have blade battery support, DM models have DM-i hybrid system and blade battery support, BYD is not worried about selling.
In terms of new power products, only Ideal ONE and Xiaopeng P7 appear in the list, among which Ideal ONE delivers up to 90491 vehicles, which is the only medium and large SUV in the list. Ideal ONE adopts an extended range hybrid power system composed of 1.2L three-cylinder range extender and dual motor. The range extender does not directly participate in the drive. Although it is equipped with 1.2L three-cylinder range extender, it does not affect its sales volume from the market reflection point of view, even leading a number of new energy vehicles.
Looking at the current pattern of China's new energy market, except Tesla, the main discourse rights are controlled by independent brands and car-making brands. Take BYD as an example. Since the launch of "blade battery"+"DMi hybrid technology", BYD has returned to the right track, and sales have broken new highs in recent months. In addition, the performance of NIO, Xiaopeng, Ideal, Nezha and other brands in the market is also good.
According to the market trend of new energy vehicles in 2021, consumers are not so resistant to new energy vehicles, mainly when the quality, endurance and intelligence of new energy vehicle products are obviously improved, consumers are willing to choose new energy vehicles. For automobile enterprises, do a good job of products, solve problems in time, do not kick the ball, do not shirk responsibility, consumers will still pay attention to new energy vehicles when buying cars.
