The new car will be officially launched this year and will be the first to be launched in overseas markets. From the real car on display at the 2022 Tokyo modified Auto Show, although the prototype car still retains camouflage, you can basically see the appearance design of the new car. From the appearance of the prototype car, it is based on the new Civic design, and some of the designs are similar to the hatchback ordinary Civic, such as the design of the headlight group. The difference is that the TYPE-R forward air grille uses a honeycomb mesh style, dot matrix LED headlamp group, the front lip protruding under the bumper, enhance the new car's sense of movement, the overall shape is also more dynamic. From the side, the TYPE-R will use larger five-spoke rims and a larger braking system, the front and rear wings of the vehicle will be wider, and the wheel distance of the body will be further increased to ensure the handling performance of the new car. The rear part of the car, which is equipped with a large size tail wing, the middle three-way exhaust also symbolizes the high-performance attribute of the new car.

According to previously exposed spy photos, the new car's interior retains a normal version of the digital LCD meter and a suspended central control screen, a three-spoke multi-function sports steering wheel with a red LOGO, and an Alcantara fur steering wheel and a red leather seat. In terms of power, the new car is expected to continue to carry a 2.0T engine with a maximum power of 228kW and a peak torque of 400N ·m. In terms of transmission system, it is matched by a six-speed manual transmission. However, the configuration of specific parameters still needs to be officially announced.

In December 2021, a suspected Honda content document was exposed on a domestic social platform that showed that Civic TYPE-R would be introduced into the Chinese market. Judging from the picture, the document may be a Japanese version of Honda's internal document, with the words "Hubei small schedule Plan" in the head of the table, while the "purpose" column has the message "Type-R driving out of the load first". Based on this, it is speculated that Civic Type-R will probably be introduced into the domestic market by Dongfeng Honda in the near future. At the same time, an order photo of the new TYPE-R circulated online, which also indicates that TYPE-R will be introduced into domestic sales by Dongfeng Honda, although Dongfeng Honda did not release specific reservation information. Of course, if you are interested, you can go to the local dealer to ask for specific reservations.

Data show that the first generation of Civic Type R was born in 1997, based on the sixth generation of Civic development at that time. In terms of family intergenerational relationships, the Civic Type R, which will be released in 2022, is the latest sixth-generation model.

TYPE-R can be sought after mainly because of its relatively primitive and pure driving fun. The high-performance hatchback compact car is a niche market in China. At present, the main models that can be bought in China are Mercedes AMG A35. If you look at the overseas market, it will also include Golf R, Subaru WRX STI, Fox RS and other models. From the price point of view, the price of domestic Mercedes AMG 35 is 395100 yuan, the price of imported AMG A45 S 4MATIC + is 549900 yuan, and the R guide price of imported golf is 372800 yuan. At the same time, referring to the prices of Fox RS and Megana RS, the price of the new TYPE-R online biography may be around 450000 yuan.
