On January 14, the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration issued three recalls. This is the first recall in China in 2022, involving Mercedes-Benz, Dongfeng Fengshen and Changan Mazda.

Recall 1: Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration. Since February 11, 2022, a total of 639 imported GLE SUV vehicles were recalled from February 17, 2020 to December 19, 2020.

The reason for the recall: the clamp of the vehicle fuel tank pressure sensor within the scope of this recall does not meet the requirements of corrosion resistance. After the vehicle has been used for a long time, the fixing force of the fixing clip may be weakened due to corrosion, which may cause the fuel tank pressure sensor to become loose due to vibration during the driving process of the vehicle. In extreme cases, it may affect the tightness of the fuel tank, which leads to the failure to meet the requirements of the relevant laws and regulations on the tightness of the vehicle fuel system, and the potential safety risks and unreasonable emission risks.

Solution: Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. will replace fuel tank pressure sensor clamps for vehicles within the recall range free of charge to eliminate safety risks and unreasonable emission risks.

Recall 2: Changan Mazda Automobile Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration. From now on, a total of 370 domestic MAZDA CX-8 vehicles produced from July 8, 2020 to June 2, 2021 will be recalled.

The reason for the recall: the riveting technology of the internal connecting rod of the middle row seat slide rail mechanism of the vehicle within the scope of this recall is inappropriate, and the seat may move forward because the seat slide rail cannot be locked while the vehicle is driving. in extreme cases, it will increase the risk of injury to passengers in the middle row, and there are safety risks.

Solution: Changan Mazda Automobile Co., Ltd. will replace the improved middle seat rail connecting rod kit for vehicles within the recall range free of charge through authorized dealers, in order to eliminate safety risks.

Recall 3: Dongfeng Automobile Group Co., Ltd. passenger car company filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration. From January 14, 2022, a total of 1257 Dongfeng Fengshen brand-new AX7 Mach cars manufactured from August 16, 2021 to October 10, 2021 will be recalled.

The reason for the recall: according to the vehicle design definition, the vehicle within the recall scope should have the function of automatic return to P gear under specific operating conditions, that is, when the speed is 0, non-P gear, the driver unfasten the seat belt and open the main driving door, TCU (automatic transmission control unit) will control the transmission to jump back to P gear, and the electronic shift should follow TCU to automatically jump back to P gear to make the vehicle enter the P gear parking state. Now, due to the software strategy problem of the electronic shift, in extreme cases, the electronic shift does not follow the TCU to automatically jump back to the P gear, causing the vehicle to continue to drive automatically in accordance with the original gear; if the driver closes the door from outside the car after getting off the car, it will cause the dangerous situation that there is no one in the car and the vehicle runs automatically in the out-of-control state, and there is a safety hidden danger.

Solution: Dongfeng passenger car Company will inspect and upgrade the electronic shift software for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge, in order to eliminate safety risks.
