Today's media exposed a BYD new model spy photo, according to the exposure of the spy photo, the car is suspected to be the BYD cruiser 05 model, if there is no accident, the car will be a SUV model of the BYD Ocean Network warship series. It is understood that the new cruiser 05 car is positioned as a medium-sized SUV with a wheelbase of 2900mm and a size between Song PLUS and Tang Dynasty. In terms of power, the new car will have three power versions to choose from.

Previously, a group of patented drawings of BYD's new SUV model have been published on the website of the State Patent Office, which uses the latest family front face style of BYD destroyer 05, so it is speculated that the car will be a SUV model of the warship series, while according to the previous naming planning law, or using the "cruiser" + numeric naming method, the new car is expected to be called Cruiser 05.

In terms of appearance, from the latest espionage photos exposed, the appearance of the new car is highly similar to that of the previous X DREAM concept car, with a family face of BYD DM-i super hybrid, with a large grille, and as the headlights and mass production accessories of the new car have not yet been installed, it is impossible to determine the final modeling effect. In the internal layout, the new car is expected to use a seven-seat layout.

In terms of power, the new car is expected to be equipped with DM-i super hybrid system, which is composed of Snapcloud-plug 1.5L high efficiency engine, EHS electric mixing system and DM-i super hybrid dedicated power blade battery, of which 1.5L engine maximum power 81kW, peak torque 135Nm. In addition, it is reported that the new car also offers two sets of EHS electric mixing system options, namely EHS132 and EHS145, the maximum power of the motor is 132kW and 145kW respectively, and the peak torque is 316Nm and 325Nm respectively.

More information about the new car, including interiors, power parameters and price, has yet to be further announced by officials.

At present, the destroyer 05, the first model of the oceannet series of warships, was officially unveiled at last year's Guangzhou auto show, and the car is expected to go on sale at the end of the first quarter of this year.

As the first model of the warship series, the exterior design of the destroyer 05 is different from that of the Dynasty series. The front face of the destroyer 05 uses the latest English LOGO, as well as a shield-like crossbar style net, which looks very hard with LED headlights. In terms of body size, the length, width and height are 4780/1837/1495mm, wheelbase 2718mm, positioning new compact car, compared with Qin PLUS, the length is slightly increased. In the power part, the destroyer 05 will be driven by a 1.5L DM-i plug-in hybrid system, the same as Qin PLUS DM-i.

It is understood that BYD destroyer 05 will be another hot product after Qin PLUS DM-i. BYD is currently planning updated models such as destroyers 07 and 09, including cruisers and landing ships, covering full-size car series as well as SUV and MPV models.

According to BYD's previous product planning, BYD will implement the two-car strategy of "dynasty family" + "overseas network" in 2022, in which most of the models basically sold by Ocean Network in the future are new energy models, including ocean series and warship series. Ocean series will be all electric models, such as previously listed "dolphins", in addition to the listed "dolphins" and the above-mentioned "seals". In the future, BYD Ocean Series will also launch "Seagull" and "Sea Lion" based on e-platform 3.0. seagull will be a small car with a positioning lower than that of dolphins but slightly higher than Wuling Hongguang MINI EV, or an entry-level model for ocean products. The sea lion is located in the medium and large SUV, against the standard Tesla Model Y. Sea lions are expected to go public in the fourth quarter of this year. The emergence of these models will further improve the layout of BYD in the 100000-200000 market, and will also form a differential development with the current dynasty series models. The warship series will focus on DM-i plug-in hybrid power, in which the car series will be named after destroyers, the SUV series will be named after cruisers, and the MPV series will be named after landing ships, so it cannot be guessed that the cruiser 05 to be released after that will be a model mainly powered by DM-i. Of course, whether this will be the case in the end remains to be further announced.
