Among them, Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. recalled some Corolla produced between March 23, 2020 and July 2, 2021, totaling 162301 vehicles. Guangzhou Auto Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. recalled a total of 161614 Leiling cars produced between April 8, 2020 and November 19, 2021.

According to the recall announcement, the manufacturing problems of the engine ignition coils in the vehicles within the scope of this recall have led to a deviation in the size of the level 1 coil support inside some of the ignition coils, and the level 1 coil may be in contact with the central iron core. the insulation between the copper wire in the coil and the central core is reduced. In extreme cases, the engine operation may cause a short circuit between the level 1 coil and the central iron core, which will fuse the fuse and cut off the power supply to the spark plug, causing the vehicle to stall while driving, increasing the risk of vehicle accidents and causing safety risks.

In view of the above defects, Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Automobile Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. will replace the improved ignition coils for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge, in order to eliminate safety risks.

As for the condition of the ignition coil fault, there are mainly the following situations: 1, the body jitter is obvious in the idle state; 2, the body jitter is obviously changed to the benchmark at 2500, and the body jitter disappears when it is lower than 2500 rpm; 3. The running engine has obvious jitter, which does not belong to the normal engine working state. All in all, when the ignition coil fails, there will be jitter. Of course, according to the recall notice, because the spark plug does not work properly due to problems in the manufacture of the ignition coil, it will directly cause the engine to fail to work properly, and the consequence is that it is possible to lie down on the road and increase the probability of accidents.
