With two days to go before the end of January 2022, Dongfeng Motor has first unveiled the first sales report of its Dongfeng Fengshen and Shenlong cars in 2022.

Data show that as of January 28, Dongfeng Fengshen's terminal retail sales in January was 19109 vehicles, up 97% from a year earlier, setting an all-time high for one-month sales.

Similarly, as of January 28, DPCA had sold more than 13000 vehicles in January, and it is expected that the sales in January will increase by more than 85% compared with the same period last year. This figure is also the first month that DPCA has sold more than 10,000 cars for five consecutive months since its sales exceeded 10,000 in September last year. At the same time, it is also the first month after four years that DPCA has sold more than 13000 vehicles.

According to the data released by Dongfeng Motor, the Yixuan family of Dongfeng Fengshen continued to maintain a sales level of more than 10,000 vehicles, with January sales of 10924 vehicles, an increase of 127% over the same period last year; sales of the new AX7 Mach version were 5068, returning to 5000 in a single month; and the new energy model E70 sold 3085.

Dongfeng Fengshen is one of the independent brands of Dongfeng Motors. At present, Dongfeng Fengshen's products include Yixuan, Dongfeng Fengshen AX7 and Dongfeng Fengshen E70. At present, Dongfeng Fengshen's new medium-sized SUV Haoji will also be officially unveiled in March and is expected to be listed in the second half of this year. It is understood that the new car is based on Dongfeng DSMA advanced modular architecture to build the first model, will be equipped with Dongfeng Mach power MHD hybrid engine, the power of the new car will launch fuel version and HEV version of two options.

In terms of sales volume, the sales situation of Dongfeng Fengshen in the past few years is not very satisfactory. From 2017 to 2019, Dongfeng Fengshen's sales target is 200000, 200000 and 100000 respectively, while the actual sales are only 125000, 95000 and 75000. According to the data, Dongfengshen failed to achieve its sales target in the past three years, and the actual sales volume also showed a downward trend year by year. In 2020, Dongfeng Shengshen declared annual sales of more than 70, 000 vehicles, but it did not release specific figures. By 2021, Dongfeng Fengshen sales will be 123000 vehicles, an increase of 71.4% over the same period last year. For the new year in 2022, Zhu Yanfeng, chairman and party committee secretary of Dongfeng Company, once again set his annual sales target at 200000 vehicles. Judging from the currently announced January sales performance, Dongfeng Fengshen's January sales brought a good start to its annual sales target. As for the subsequent November sales, whether Dongfeng Fengshen can break through the annual sales target of 200000 vehicles this year still needs more time and market verification.

As for DPCA, at the end of 2021, DPCA said that it had achieved its annual sales target of 100000 vehicles ahead of schedule, and its monthly sales exceeded 10,000 for three consecutive months, with annual sales doubling synchronously. The increase in sales may be related to the new models launched by Dongfeng Peugeot and Dongfeng Citroen, among which the sales performance is more prominent than the Versailles C5X model.

According to data released by Dongfeng Automobile Group, the wholesale sales of DPCA in 2021 were 100567, up 100.07% from 50267 in 2020, including 14014 in December 2021, up 119.07% from 6397 in the same period in 2020. DPCA's Dongfeng Citroen sold 796868 vehicles worldwide in 2021, up 6.98% from the same period last year, of which 41391 were sold in China, up 101.7% from the same period last year, making it the fourth largest car market for Citroen.

According to previous reports from the automotive industry, there are seven products currently on sale under DPCA's Dongfeng Citroen brand, including Versailles C5X, Tianyi C5 AIRCROSS, C3-XR, Tianyi C5 AIRCROSS PHEV, C3L, C6 and 2022 Tianyi Co-creation. Among these seven models, Versailles C5X has the highest sales in the past year with a cumulative sales of 12140, followed by Tianyi C5 AIRCROSS with 10607, C3-XR with 9378 and C6 with 7549. Sales of other models are less than a thousand. Among them, Versailles C5X has become the main force of Dongfeng Citroen sales after only four months on the market (September 23, 2021). Data show that Versailles C5X has successfully delivered more than 12000 vehicles in only one quarter since it was listed in September last year, including 513 in September, 1530 in October, more than 5000 in November and December and 5037 in November. Sales in December were 5060. So far, the January sales of the Versailles C5X model have not been officially announced, but according to the official plan, 5000 vehicles will be delivered in January this year, which means that the increase in DPCA sales is partly due to the excellent performance of the Versailles C5X model.

In the past year, although the annual sales of DPCA exceeded 100000, 100000 vehicles are negligible compared to its sales record of 705000 in 2015, according to relevant data. since DPCA's sales reached an all-time peak of 700000 in 2015, it fell by 15.2%, 36.85%, 32.89%, 55.17% and 55.74% respectively from 2015 to 2020, and sales declined for five consecutive years compared with the same period last year. So far, Dongfeng Motor has not announced a specific sales target for DPCA in 2022. With the improvement in sales in January, whether DPCA can achieve good results this year remains to be seen.
