On February 8, Changan Automobile's official account "Changan Party Declaration" announced that "Changan Automobile has started the tenure system of senior personnel." At the cadre meeting held by Changan Automobile, Zhu Huarong, chairman and party committee secretary of the company, said that it is not that the ability of the cadre team has failed, but that it is facing a new round of competition, and new capabilities need to be reconstructed.

According to insiders, the personnel reshuffle involves nearly three figures, fewer than 300 people, does not involve manufacturing jobs and joint ventures, and is expected to complete the application and appointment within a week. At present, Changan Automobile has started the tenure system of senior personnel, and all senior executives, party groups, and management personnel at and below the general manager level have been dismissed, rehired, and employed on a tenure basis. Zhu Huarong, chairman of Changan Automobile, also said that this measure is an inevitable requirement for deepening the reform of the three systems of state-owned enterprises, implementing tenure system and contract management, and stepping up the reform of the market operation mechanism.

In fact, Changan Automobile is not the first automobile company in the automobile industry to adopt this measure. Xu Liuping, chairman of FAW Group, carried out a similar operation as early as 2017, when FAW Group carried out the "918" reform. large-scale adjustments have been made to the enterprise structure and executives, and some employees have been streamlined. Unlike Changan Automobile, Changan Automobile only carries out personnel adjustment and does not involve structural adjustment. Industry insiders believe that Changan Automobile dismissal of all senior staff and re-recruitment may be intended to streamline staff.

At present, it will take more time to verify the effectiveness of Changan's senior personnel after a big change of blood.

According to the latest data, the cumulative sales of Changan Automobile in 2021 was 2300530 vehicles, an increase of 14.82% over the same period last year. Among them, the annual sales of independent brands were 1754707, an increase of 16.7% over the same period last year, and the annual sales of passenger cars of independent brands were 1204199, up 23.1% from the same period last year, ranking third among independent brands.

However, looking back over the past few years, the annual sales of Changan Automobile has already exceeded 2 million. According to the auto industry's data, the annual sales of Changan Automobile exceeded 2 million in 2013 and peaked in 2016, reaching 3.058 million. However, after that, Changan Automobile began to decline. According to statistics, from 2013 to 2019, Changan Automobile began to decline. The total sales of Changan Automobile are 3.063 million, 2.872 million and 1.76 million respectively, showing a downward trend year by year, and one of the reasons for the decline is affected by the decline in sales of Changan Ford. Fortunately, with the continuous expansion of Changan automobile product camp and the emphasis on new energy and high-end products, Changan automobile sales improved in 2020 and 2021, but compared with the peak in 2016. Its sales performance in 2021 is still relatively mediocre.

As for future vehicle sales planning, Zhu Huarong, chairman of Changan Automobile, said earlier that Changan brand sales would reach 3 million by 2025, with new energy accounting for 35 per cent, while world-class brands would be built and sales of 4.5 million vehicles would be reached by 2030. New energy accounts for 60 per cent.
