It is understood that the 2022 Tang EV is expected to start pre-sale in late March this year, launch in late April and achieve small batch delivery, and normal delivery from May. In terms of price, the price range of the new car is expected to be between 28 and 350000.

According to the preview chart released by BYD, the 2022 Tang EV has a great change in the appearance of the front face. the new car adopts a brand new EV Dragon Face3.0 family front face, which uses a closed intake grille design similar to Han EV and Song Plus EV, in which a thicker chrome strip is added above the front grille, and the new car logo "Tang" logo is also embedded there. at the same time, horizontal vents are also used under the front face of the new car. With the horizontal silver trim at the bottom, the front face of the new car has a distinct sense of layering. Compared with the current model, the new car is more excellent in recognition.

In fact, the declaration map of BYD's 2022 Tang EV appeared on the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology at the end of last year. Combined with the information previously exposed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the front design of the new car is basically consistent with the preview diagram released this time. On the side and rear of the new car, according to the information on the declaration chart, the new car will not change much and is expected to be consistent with the current model. The new car will adopt a smoked C-column and double waist line design, and the roof will also use a suspension design to increase its visual effect. The rear part of the taillight group still adopts a penetrating design, with diversion grooves on both sides to further enhance the overall sense of movement of the new car.

In terms of body size, the length / width / height of the new car is 4900/1950/1725mm, the wheelbase is 2820mm, and the positioning is medium-sized pure electric SUV. Compared with the current model, the length of the new car body is slightly increased, and the wheelbase is consistent.

The interior part of the BYD car has not yet been announced, and the new car is also not expected to change much. in the seat layout, the new car is expected to offer six-seat and seven-seat versions.

In terms of power, the new car will offer two versions of two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, in which the two-wheel drive version will be equipped with a front-drive motor with the maximum power of 168kW, with a maximum range of 730km under comprehensive operating conditions, while the four-wheel drive version will be equipped with front and rear dual motors with maximum power of 180kW and 200kW, respectively, with 100km acceleration of only 4.4s and mileage of 615km under operating conditions. As a reference, the maximum motor power of the current model is 180kW and 380kW respectively, and in terms of driving range, the highest mileage of the current model is 565km. Overall, compared with the current model, the power of the new car has declined, but the battery life of the new car has been greatly improved.

Tang EV is the flagship SUV of BYD automobile dynasty series. According to the internal documents previously exposed online, the biggest change of the 2022 Tang EV is that its CLTC comprehensive range is 730km, 100km acceleration time is 4.4s, super intelligent electric four-wheel drive, S-class luxury big six seats, HiFi class Dana impression, DiSus-C intelligent electronically controlled active suspension, etc., if the internal document information exposed is true. The 2022 Tang EV will be significantly higher than the current model, and considering the positioning, power performance and expected price of the new car, it is expected that the new car will compete with Tesla Model Y after its launch.

BYD is the leader of new energy vehicles in China. Official figures show that BYD sold 730093 vehicles in 2021, an increase of 75.4 percent over the same period last year, of which sales of new energy passenger vehicles reached 593745, an increase of 231.60 percent. For this year's annual sales target, BYD is set to achieve its sales target of 1.2 million vehicles this year, with new energy vehicles accounting for 80 per cent of BYD's total sales.

At present, BYD has released its first report card in January 2022. The latest data show that BYD sold 95422 vehicles in January, an increase of 125.05 percent over the same period last year, and sales of 92926 new energy passenger vehicles, an increase of 365.65 percent over the same period last year. To achieve the target of 7.9%, the Tang family sold 9060 vehicles in January.
