Such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi, the three German luxury brands have all accelerated the pace of electrification. One of the model plans for this year is to vigorously launch new electric models.

According to reports, Mercedes-Benz (hereinafter referred to as "Mercedes-Benz") plans to set up a pure electric vehicle production line. The company expects to design a factory for pure electric vehicle production line according to market demand in the next few years after 2025. According to media reports, Mercedes-Benz production director Joerg Burzer said in an interview: because it takes time to build a brand new pure electric vehicle factory, Mercedes-Benz has taken a different approach. In the next few years, the production lines of some factories will specialize in assembling electric vehicles. Mercedes-Benz expects some of its factory production lines to be fully converted to electric vehicles earlier, with plug-in hybrids and pure electric vehicles accounting for 50% of total sales in 2025, while pure electric vehicles are expected to account for most of them.

In fact, as early as last July, Mercedes-Benz announced that it would vigorously promote the electrification of its models, transforming from "electric first" to "all-electric". And this year, Mercedes-Benz electric car versions will be available in all market segments, pure electric and plug-in hybrid models account for 50% of total sales in 2025, and the sale of fuel cars will be stopped in 2030, that is, new car sales will basically be transformed into pure electric models in 2030. In addition, starting from 2025, all newly released models of Mercedes-Benz will be pure electric platforms, and each of its models will provide pure electric version options. at that time, Mercedes-Benz will launch three new pure electric model architecture platforms, covering all medium and large passenger cars, performance electric vehicles, pure electric MPV and light commercial vehicles. In addition to the pure electric platform, Mercedes-Benz will also develop its own "three electricity" technology, including core components of batteries, while Mercedes-Benz will invest more than 40 billion euros in pure electric models from 2022 to 2030 to promote corporate transformation.

At present, Mercedes-Benz is very "aggressive" in electrification. By the end of 2021, Mercedes-Benz has introduced four pure electric models in China, including EQA, EQB, EQC and EQS, among which EQA, EQB and EQC are all oil-to-electric models. In 2019, Mercedes-Benz officially launched its first domestic pure electric EQC, priced at 49.98-579800 yuan. Last year, Mercedes-Benz launched a number of new energy products, including two domestic pure electric cars, EQA and EQB, of which the EQA model is priced at 365800 yuan and the EQB model is priced at 437800 yuan. It is worth mentioning that on December 17 of the same year, Mercedes-Benz officially announced the domestic price of its pure electric large car Mercedes-Benz EQS. the new car has launched two power versions and four models with a price range of 107.96-1.5186 million yuan. According to previous reports from the automotive industry, the Mercedes-Benz EQS is the first model based on Mercedes-Benz's new pure electric platform-EVA. Unlike previous listed models such as EQA, EQB and EQC, Mercedes-Benz EQS positioning luxury large pure electric car is a truly pure electric platform electric vehicle, which is expected to be officially launched this year.

In addition, the new EQE, the first pure electric car produced by Mercedes-EQ based on the EVA platform in China, is also expected to be domestically produced this year. At present, the new EQE has appeared in the declaration of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and confirmed that it is domestic. According to the declaration information given by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the new car will be equipped with a drive motor with a maximum power of 215kW, which is highly consistent with the overseas version of the Mercedes-Benz EQE 350, which can be completed within 5.6 seconds.

In addition to the above models, on January 4 this year, Mercedes-Benz also released a new pure electric concept car VISION EQXX. Mercedes-Benz vision EQXX, as a new pure electric concept sports car under Mercedes-Benz, has a wind resistance coefficient reduced to 0.17, its energy consumption of 100 kilometers is lower than 10kW/h, and its single charge mileage exceeds 1000km. It is understood that the launch of VISION EQXX concept car is also an important step for Mercedes-Benz to realize electrification in the future. The volume version is expected to be unveiled in 2024.

In terms of sales volume, Mercedes-Benz delivered a total of 227458 new energy models in 2021, of which 48936 were EQ pure electric vehicles, including smart and Mercedes-Benz electric vans. Mercedes-Benz delivered more than 99000 pure electric vehicles in 2021. Mercedes-Benz said it had received 16370 orders for the EQS since it went on sale in August 2021.

Mercedes-Benz will launch 21 new products this year, including 8 pure electric and plug-in hybrid models. In fact, although Mercedes-Benz has launched a number of pure electric vehicle products in the field of electric vehicles, its sales performance is not optimistic, and there is a big gap between Mercedes-Benz EQ series EQA, EQB and EQC. In January this year, the monthly sales of three models of Mercedes-Benz EQ series are only 100, but at present, the pure electric vehicle market of more than 300000 yuan has been first occupied by Tesla and the new car-building forces. It is still uncertain whether Mercedes-Benz can bring new breakthroughs in the field of electric vehicles.
