In the above research report, three options are given for the price of Hengchi 5, which are 15-180000 yuan, 18-210000 yuan and 21-240000 yuan respectively, while according to Hengchi automobile product planning, Hengchi 5 is an entry-level model with a price below 200000 yuan, and it is very likely to be in the range of "15-180000 yuan" for luxury entry-level models such as BMW X1, Audi Q3 and Mercedes-Benz GLAs. Evergrande built cars as early as 2017, and initially chose to build cars in partnership with Jia Yueting's FF, but eventually Evergrande and FF parted ways because they did not agree on some projects. As we all know, 2021 is an extremely difficult year for Evergrande. The beleaguered Evergrande has to sell the assets it bought at high prices a few years ago, and even Evergrande faces the risk of selling as its capital is tight. On August 10, 2021, Evergrande announced that it was "in contact with several potential independent third-party investors to discuss the sale of some of its assets", including Evergrande. However, with the offline of Hengchi 5, Evergrande, which has invested nearly 30 billion yuan in total, has had to do this again, and has even strengthened its determination to build cars, which may be the most difficult way for Evergrande to get out of adversity. However, in the license announcement of "Road Motor vehicle Manufacturing Enterprises and products" (batch 350) issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on December 7, both Hengchi products were removed, meaning that Hengchi 5 failed to be publicized and new cars need to be declared again, which will also postpone the listing time of Hengchi 5. On December 31, 2021, Evergrande went off the line of Hengchi 5 without warning, but the scene was very low-key, not only without media, guests, but even boss Xu did not attend the event.

Evergrande's debt problem, though far from over, seems to be getting used to the difficulties Evergrande faces, and Evergrande's share price is beginning to stabilise. However, the listing of Hengchi 5 is only the first step for Evergrande to save itself, and whether it sells well or not is another matter. In other words, although Hengchi 5 on the standard BMW X1, Audi Q3, Mercedes-Benz GLA and other luxury entry-level models, but can consumers buy it? From a brand point of view, BMW X1, Audi Q3 and Mercedes-Benz GLA are all entry-level SUV under first-tier luxury brands, and their brand awareness is far better than that of Evergrande. From the point of view of product power, as a pure electric compact SUV, the market competition below 200000 yuan is very fierce, such as Xiaopeng G3, Nezhu, Volkswagen ID.4X/CROZZ, AION V, etc., these models are well developed in the market, and this is limited to the compact SUV. In the future, BYD, Tesla, Euler and so on will frantically distribute pure electric products in this market. And how should Evergrande, which was at a low ebb at that time, make consumers believe and choose "products"?
