Specifically, the front face of the new car uses a large front grille, with straight waterfall elements inside, with the red flag vertical LOGO in the center and the narrow headlights on both sides, which looks similar to the Red Flag H9 as a whole. On the side of the body, the new car cancels the previous slippery back shape and uses more concise lines. The rear part is also similar to the Red Flag H9. The new car uses a through taillight group design and ends with a Y shape on both sides, which looks more chic. As the appearance design of the new generation Red Flag H5 is similar to that of the Red Flag H9 model, many netizens said: a proper "small H9" and jokingly called the new generation Red Flag H5 like a small H9.

The size of the car body has not been officially announced, but there have been media reports that the new car is expected to be 5050/1915/1570mm in length, width and height, and 2920mm in wheelbase. As a reference, the current Hongqi model has a length, width and height of 4945x1845x1470 and a wheelbase of 2875, positioning a B-class car.

In the interior part, the new car will adopt the design of vertical central control large screen. In terms of power, it is expected that the new Hongqi H5 will be equipped with three different powertrains. For reference, the current Hongqi H5 is equipped with 1.5T engine and 1.8T engine + 48V light mixing system, matching 7-speed wet double clutch and 6AT gearbox. The new car will compete with Honda Accord (16.48-244800 yuan) after its launch, but considering the high-end positioning of the new car and the unannounced vehicle price, the new car will compete with Audi A4L (30.68-396800 yuan) and BMW 3-Series (29.39-398900 yuan).

FAW Hongqi, as a domestic independent high-end brand, most of its products are above 200000, while the models less than 200000 are currently the only medium-sized sedan, Red Flag H5. Hongqi H9 was released in 2020, positioning medium and large sedans, with 2.0T and 3.0T V6 engines in power, with a price range of 30-540000 yuan. In terms of sales, data show that in the past year, the main models of FAW Hongqi are HS5, H5 and H9, with cumulative annual sales of 129632, 82168 and 33658 respectively. From January to February this year, FAW Hongqi accumulated sales of 63800 vehicles, an increase of 40% over the same period last year. In January, the best selling model of Hongqi was still Hongqi HS5, with a cumulative sales of 16279 in January, followed by Hongqi H5, with a cumulative sales of 11739 in January. FAW Hongqi official has not released specific model sales figures for February, but the auto industry is concerned and speculated that the best-selling models of FAW Hongqi products in February may still be the Red Flag HS5 and the Red Flag H5.

In terms of annual sales target, FAW Red Flag sets a target of between 45 and 500000 vehicles. In order to achieve its annual sales target, FAW Red Flag will also launch a number of new cars this year, including the new flagship SUV model Red Flag LS7, which is expected to start pre-sale in mid-late March; both E-QM5 rechargeable versions and H9 + models are expected to go on sale in March. In addition, FAW Hongqi will also launch Red Flag H6 (code C100) and brand-new MPV (code C095) this year. Up to now, all the products listed in FAW Red Flag belong to H series, which is also the product series mainly promoted by Red Flag Brand at present. for the longer-term future, FAW Red Flag will form four major product camps: h-series (mainstream cars), L-series (supreme cars), Q-series (commercial vehicles) and S-series (supercar).
