Today, Ideal Auto officially announced some information about its second model, Ideal L9, including vehicle interior details, release time and vehicle price. According to official sources, the ideal L9 will be launched during the Beijing Auto Show in 2022. Depending on the model configuration, the vehicle price range will be between 450,000 yuan and 500,000 yuan, more than 100,000 yuan more than the ideal ONE (price: 338,000 yuan), the first model of the ideal car.

As for the interior details of the ideal L9, combined with the official release of the interior and official statements, the big change of the ideal L9 is to eliminate the traditional dashboard and add a small size LCD screen to the steering wheel, as well as provide an oversized size HUD head-up display and safe driving interactive screen. The vehicle central control screen, co-driver entertainment screen and rear cabin entertainment screen adopt three 15.7-inch OLED screens. In terms of vehicle system, the ideal L9 will have 6 microphones and 3DToF sensors in the car, which can interact with three-dimensional space in the car; two Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chips will be configured in the cockpit. Ideal Auto officials said more information about the model will be announced next Wednesday, March 16.

On the evening of March 3, Ideal Car posted a message on its official Weibo account: Ideal Car will be released during the Beijing Auto Show as a global smart flagship SUV built for families. The product is officially named Ideal L9.

According to previous media reports, the internal code of ideal L9 is ideal X01, which is built based on the second generation extended range platform, positioning large SUV, and the power will adopt the extended range power system composed of 1.5T four-cylinder engine and electric motor. In terms of appearance, according to the previously exposed spy photos, the overall style of the new car is similar to that of the ideal ONE. On the front face, it is expected that the new car will adopt the design of closed front grille, and the logo on the ideal ONE will also appear on the ideal L9. The sides of the car are also expected to continue to have a simple design similar to the ideal ONE, with low drag rims. At the rear of the car, the new car is equipped with a small roof spoiler and high-mounted brake lights, while the taillights adopt a single-frame through-type design, which is obviously different from the current ideal ONE double-layer through-type. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 5200/1998/1800mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 3100mm. It is positioned as a large SUV, similar to flagship models such as BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS.

In terms of power, the new car will continue to use the extended range power system. Different from the ideal ONE 1.2T three-cylinder, the new car will adopt a 1.5T four-cylinder engine with thermal efficiency up to 40%. On the range, the new car will be equipped with 44.5kWh power battery and 65L fuel tank. The WLTC operating condition is 155km pure electric range, and the total range exceeds 800km.

In terms of market competition, with the launch of new cars, it is expected to compete with Mercedes-Benz GLS. Ideal ONE was released in October 2018, breaking through 30000 vehicles on December 18,2020, setting the fastest delivery record for the first model of new car power. Ideal ONE positioning medium and large SUV, different from the new power brand NIO Automobile and Xiaopeng Automobile, ideal ONE adopts extended range drive, oil or electricity. In terms of sales volume, in the past 2021, Ideal ONE delivered 90491 vehicles cumulatively, up 177.4% from 32624 vehicles in 2020. In the first two months of this year, the cumulative delivery volume of Ideal ONE reached 20682 vehicles (12268 vehicles in January and 8414 vehicles in February), becoming the top brand of new forces.

For the short-term first-quarter sales plan this year, Ideal Car said it expects to deliver 30000 to 32000 vehicles in the first quarter of 2022, while the longer-term sales target is 1.6 million vehicles by 2025.
