In response to the news that Porsche has suspended production at its German plant and stopped production of different models, Porsche officials said in response to Sina: "at present, the production of 911 and 718 models at the Zufenhausen plant has not been affected. Production of the Cayenne model is also under way at the Bratislava plant this week. Due to the improvement in the supply of spare parts, the Leipzig plant will resume production to a limited extent from next week. However, on the afternoon of March 9, German time, the Zuvenhausen plant will suspend production of Taycan models and is initially expected to stop production until the end of next week. "

Data show that Porsche is a world-famous luxury car brand of Volkswagen in Germany. 911,718 (including Boxster, Cayman), Panamera, Cayenne and Macan are all its models. Porsche sold 301915 vehicles worldwide in 2021, up 11% from a year earlier, according to official Porsche data. This is the first time Porsche has sold more than 300000 vehicles. Among them, Porsche delivered a total of 95671 vehicles in China in 2021, an increase of 8% over the same period last year, making it the largest single market for the Porsche brand in the world for seven consecutive years, accounting for 32% of the global market.

Due to many uncertainties in the situation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Porsche has announced that it will stop delivering new cars to Russia. Porsche has 26 Porsche centers in Russia. Porsche delivered a total of 6262 cars in Russia in fiscal year 2021, a tiny fraction of the 301915 Porsche delivered worldwide last year, according to the data. In addition, Porsche's most popular model in Russia in 2021 was the Cayenne, which sold 3431 vehicles, accounting for 54 per cent of Porsche's total Russian sales. In addition to Porsche, multinational car companies, including Volkswagen, Toyota, Renault-Nissan and Stellantis, have all set up factories in Russia, and several have been forced to stop or cut production as a result of the war.

It is understood that Volkswagen's electric car factory in Zvico in eastern Germany will suspend production until March 18 due to delays in the supply of parts in Ukraine. Volkswagen's Wolfsburg plant will stop production for at least two weeks from March 7. Audi suspended production of the A4 and A5 models at the Ingolstadt plant in Germany on Monday, as well as the A6 and A7 models at the Nekasurm plant. Due to the lack of wiring harness, BMW said that from March 7, production at the Dingolfen plant and the Munich plant will be suspended, and the resumption of production is uncertain; in addition, the Regensburg plant will also reduce production shifts due to lack of chips. Mercedes-Benz also announced that it would adjust production plans at European plants from the 7th to avoid a complete shutdown, while trying to find alternatives to car parts made in Ukraine.

In addition, a number of multinational automakers have decided to stop exporting vehicles to Russia. On March 1, Volvo said it would suspend exports to Russia. On March 2, General Motors announced a suspension of car exports to Russia. On March 3, Volkswagen issued a statement on Twitter, saying that in view of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Volkswagen had decided to stop production of new cars at two major Russian factories until further notice, while imported cars would also stop at the same time.

Toyota had previously announced that it would stop exporting new cars to the Russian market and would temporarily suspend new car sales in Russia after existing stocks were emptied. In addition, BMW Group, Ford Group and Mercedes-Benz Group have all announced that they will stop production at local factories in Russia. Honda, Nissan and General Motors announced that they would stop exporting cars to Russia.

According to Auto Forecast Solutions, the Russian car plant has a total capacity of more than 2 million vehicles, compared with plans to produce about 1.5 million vehicles this year. The suspension of production due to a shortage of spare parts and European and American sanctions will cost Russia 760000 to 815000 cars this year and the loss is "irreparable."
