Directly affected by the Spring Festival holiday, cars/SUV/MPV basically declined month-on-month in February 2022. According to the latest retail sales data statistics of the Passenger Association, the sales volume of narrow passenger cars in China in February 2022 was 1.25 million, with a year-on-year growth of 4.5%. Among them, the sales volume of cars was 597,000, up 6.1% year-on-year; the sales volume of MPV was 66,000, up 1.7% year-on-year; and the sales volume of SUV was 587,000, up 3.2% year-on-year.

In the gradually warming market, independent brands benefit from the good performance of the new energy automobile market, and many independent models rank first. Take the car market as an example, Hongguang MINIEV and BYD Qin as representatives of new energy cars are undoubtedly the most outstanding performance. In February, Hongguang MINIEV sold 26,116 units, ranking third in the car list. As a mini car, more and more manufacturers joined this camp, including Chery QQ ice cream, Chang 'an Benben EV, Dongfeng Scenery MINIEV and other competitors began to encroach on Hongguang MINIEV market. Although Hongguang MINI is still leading a group of products of the same level at present, it also maintains the third place in the car in the first two months, but it is uncertain to keep this title next.

In contrast, BYD Qin sold 24,501 vehicles in February, including 14,242 Qin DM-i vehicles, 8,264 Qin EV vehicles and 1995 Qin fuel vehicles. It is not difficult to see from the data that new energy vehicles dominate Qin's market performance. At present, Qin is mainly affected by production capacity. The total sales volume in the first two months is 51,043 vehicles, only 1,755 less than Hongguang MINIEV. The probability that the former replaces the latter is still there.

In the joint venture sedan, Corolla and Asian Dragon once again squeezed into the top ten. Last month, FAW Toyota Tianjin factory shut down, resulting in FAW Toyota sales fell 46.1% year-on-year, sales of its various models plummeted, whether Corolla, Asian Dragon or Rongfang failed to squeeze into the TOP 15 list, this is also their first "absence" in recent years. However, good in the factory to resume production, FAW Toyota also quickly "return blood", Corolla, Asian dragon, Rongfang and other models performed better than the same level.

In terms of other models, BMW 3 Series and BMW 5 Series declined seriously, but their performance was still due to the same level of products, among which BMW 3 Series was 10185 vehicles, which was the only model with more than 10,000 vehicles in BBA products. Dongfeng Honda Yingshi School also gained a certain popularity after the mid-term change, selling 10173 vehicles in January and 5103 vehicles in February, with a decline in fame. GAC Honda was officially launched on December 16,2021, and 4624 vehicles were sold in February, ranking 54th on the car list. Dongfeng Citroen Versailles C5X was cold after experiencing a rise, selling 3188 units in January and 2455 units in February, ranking 66th on the sedan list.

Compared with the car list, the SUV list changes obviously, the most obvious is that the crown overlord Haval H6 was replaced by BYD Song. Of course, this situation may also occur in anticipation. As we all know, the reason why Haval H6 can outperform Chang 'an CS75, Honda CR-V and other models is mainly because it adopts the three-generation sales strategy of "vehicles" for quantity. However, since BYD launched the blade battery and DM-i, Song has launched PLUS DM-i, PLUS EV and Pro DM-i six times, and today Song MAX DM-i is also officially launched, sales continue to soar under the layout of a variety of models, since the second half of 2021 in the SUV market ranking has been at the top, it is only a matter of time to win the top spot. It can be expected that the Haval H6 may also become the SUV market champion, but BYD Song still threatens the Haval H6 annual title.

As for the Haval H6 sales decline, Great Wall Motor said that due to the exclusive supplier of ESP configuration of the main model_Bosch produced by the body electronic stability system ESP supply shortage, resulting in limited capacity. In this way, Haval H6 sales fell 39.5% year-on-year. As a direct competitor of Haval H6, Chang 'an CS75 fell by 62.0%, and for the reason of sales decline, Chang' an Automobile explained that "the supply of core-related parts continues to be in short supply, especially Bosch airbag controller, EPBI and other materials are in serious shortage, resulting in a continuous sharp decline in output and serious shortage of market terminal resources".

Honda CR-V sold 22,260 units in February 2022, its best result since May 2021, ending an eight-month sharp decline. However, the current Dongfeng Honda parts supply is still relatively serious, has not recovered significantly, CR-V excellent performance should be the manufacturer in each model trade-off results.

In terms of other models, GAC Chuanqi GS8 was launched on December 12,2021, and the sales volume in February was 2000 vehicles. After upgrading, the new Qijun with three-cylinder engine was cold again. The sales volume in February was 1762 vehicles, ranking 88th on the list. The sales performance was worse day by day. As a sister model of GAC Toyota Highlander, FAW Toyota Crown Liufang sold 5291 vehicles in February, compared with 7115 Highlander vehicles.

Compared with the MPV market with a smaller share, it is also a lot of highlights from the monthly sales list. According to the monthly list, Wuling Hongguang is still the first in sales volume and the only model with more than ten thousand vehicles, but the sales volume has declined seriously in recent years, which does not rule out the possibility of being surpassed by Buick GL8. Although Buick GL8 ranks second, its sales volume has increased significantly in the past two years, becoming the handle model in MPV market, with sales volume of 9090 vehicles in February. Among several models with high market attention, Chuanqi M8 returned to the third place, Sana ranked fourth, and sales volume has exceeded that of Odyssey and Alishen. As for Kia Jiahua, sales after replacement were very sluggish, with only 243 vehicles in February.

In addition, the automobile industry also pays attention to the statistics of new energy model sales list. From the list, although Hongguang MINIEV as a mini-car won the first place, but followed by Qin, Song and other models gradually narrowed the gap, including Tang, Han, Dolphin and other models also entered the top ten, and Hongguang MINIEV market gradually by Chery QQ ice cream, Chang 'an Ben EV and other elaboration, do not rule out the possibility of giving up the title in the future. In addition, Tesla Model Y sold 18593 vehicles a month, making it the only foreign-funded model in TOP 10, with 8414 ideal ONE, 4074 Nezha V and 3537 Xiaopeng P7.

Overall, due to the epidemic situation, chip shortage and the impact of the Spring Festival holiday, the overall market performance in February was not very optimistic, and many joint venture brands declined, such as FAW-Volkswagen, SAIC Volkswagen and SAIC GM. Of course, compared with traditional fuel vehicles, the market for new energy vehicles continues to explode, most notably BYD overtook SAIC Volkswagen in February, and a number of autonomous models began to overtake joint venture models. Of course, although the market performance of new energy vehicles is good, under the influence of the state's strong support for the development of new energy vehicles and city restrictions, consumers are beginning to pay attention to new energy vehicle products, but it is a long-term process for new energy vehicles to replace traditional fuel vehicles, perhaps five years later, perhaps ten years later.
