Today, the auto industry focuses on the latest batch of model declaration information released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. BYD's two new cars, BYD Seal and BYD frigate 07, appear in the new product catalogue.

Let's start with the first model, BYD Seal: the Seal is the second pure electric car in BYD's Marine Life series, which is a series of products built by BYD for pure electric cars. at the same time, it is also the key series of BYD e platform 3.0. The seal is based on BYD e platform 3.0. there are three versions of the new car, which is located in a new all-electric model with a price range of 22-280000. The new car will be unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show in April.

According to the public information, the overall appearance of the seal is basically consistent with the outline of the model displayed at the previous press conference. The new car adopts a brand-new marine aesthetic design style, and the front face adopts the common closed grille design of pure electric models. The smoked headlamp group shape is used on both sides, the side part of the body, the slip-back style of the roof of the new car, and the waistline of the body adopts the through shape. From the headlights to the rear of the car, the lines are smooth, and this design once again enhances the sense of movement of the whole car. The rear part adopts the through-type design, which makes the visual effect of the whole vehicle lower.

In terms of body size, according to the declaration information, the length, width and height of the new car are 4800/1875/1460mm, the wheelbase is 2920mm, and the overall size is larger than the previously exposed information. As a comparison, the length, width and height of Tesla Model 3 is only 4694/1850/1443mm, wheelbase 2875mm.

In addition, the new car also uses the front narrow rear wide wheel distance design, the front wheel distance is 1620mm, the rear wheel distance is 1625mm. The Seal has declared three versions, two rear-drive versions and one four-wheel drive version, and the three versions are of 1885kg, 2015kg and 2150kg respectively. The tire size is declared in three specifications: 225/50R18 and 235/45R19.

As for interior and power, there is no further news. It is expected that the new car will be equipped with lithium iron phosphate blade battery and a new front double fork arm + rear five-rod chassis structure, with single-motor rear drive and dual-motor four-wheel drive, respectively, with a maximum power of 150kW (rear drive), 180kW (rear drive) and 360kW (all-wheel drive).

Considering the seal's appearance design, body size and configuration power, the seal will become the strongest competitor with Tesla Model 3 when it comes on the market.

Next, let's talk about the BYD frigate 07 model: BYD frigate 07 also appeared in the declaration catalogue at the same time as BYD Seal. The frigate 07 model is an all-series model of the BYD Ocean Network warship series, and the new car is positioned as a new medium-sized SUV. According to the plan, the new car will go into production in May and go on sale in the first half of the year, with a price of 15-200000 yuan.

Combined with the previously exposed spy photos and the current declaration information, the new car as a mass production model of the BYD X DREAM concept car, the front face of the new car uses a family-style borderless intake grille on both sides with slender headlamp sets and penetrating daytime driving lights, as well as BYD's new LOGO, the overall shape looks more stylish and avant-garde. The waistline is straight, the headlights extending to the front fender and the vertical lines of the D-pillar make the whole look more dynamic. In the rear part of the car, the new car's taillights are designed with a "frigate 07" sign on the rear.

In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4820/1920/1750mm and the wheelbase is 2820mm, which is close to the BYD and Tang series. In terms of configuration, the new car provides different styles of rims and red calipers for consumers to choose from.

In the power part, the new car is equipped with a DM-i plug-in hybrid system composed of a 1.5T engine and motor, and the pure electricity lasts 200km. In addition, frigate 07 will also launch a DM-P model with main power performance, with an acceleration of 4.7s. The battery pack is the lithium iron phosphate battery that BYD is good at as well as seals. Frigate 07 will compete with Changan UNI-K iDD, Macchiato DHT-PHEV and other models after its launch.

Ocean net is a new product sales network launched by BYD last year, including marine life series, warship series and e-series products. According to BYD's official statement, the marine life series is a pure electric product based on e-platform 3.0. it focuses on good appearance, new safety, new efficiency, new intelligence, new experience, and all car models. At present, there are only dolphins in the marine life series of Ocean net. Dolphins have a total of four models, positioning small cars, and the price is 9.38-121800 yuan after comprehensive subsidy. Warship series is based on super hybrid platform to build hybrid products, all products will be equipped with DM-i hybrid system, with cars, SUV and MPV models, in which warship series, car series named after destroyers, SUV series named after cruisers, MPV series named after landing ships, the warship series has launched a destroyer 05, which was officially unveiled at last year's Guangzhou Auto Show. The new car is positioned as a medium-sized SUV with a wheelbase of 2900mm and a size between Song PLUS and Tang. In terms of power, the new car will have three power versions to choose from, and it is expected to go on sale at the end of the first quarter of this year.

Relevant data show that in the past 2021, BYD's cumulative sales reached 730093 vehicles, up 75.4% from the same period last year, of which 593745 new energy models were sold, up 231.6% from the same period last year. Since its launch, the oceannet marine life series has sold 38448 dolphins, including 10602 in January and 8561 in February, making it another popular model under BYD. Judging from BYD's past sales structure, new energy vehicles accounted for 80% of BYD's total sales. With the launch of BYD seals and frigate 07 and other "ocean series" models this year, BYD's product matrix will be further strengthened. At the same time, it will also inject new sources of sales. In 2022, BYD will continue to implement the "dynasty family" + "overseas net" dual-car strategy to achieve the annual sales target of 1.2 million vehicles.
