The annual models of the defective models include 2020 and 2021 models, and the defects are serious carbon deposition in burning oil and spark plug with oil. It is judged that the oil seeps into the combustion chamber due to the poor effect of the oil and gas separator.

A BMW 3-Series owner said in a report letter that he bought the 2020 modified 325LiM, engine model B48B20D, at a 4S store in Shanghai in August 2020, and completed the license on September 11, 2020. At the end of January 2021, when the mileage was about 4600 kilometers, the 4S store asked to add 5.75L oil to the car owner. The car owner said that the car owner mentioned that the car had 5.25L oil after sale, and why it had increased 0.5L. The 4S store was unclear, so the car owner did not agree to add 5.75L at that time. After the first insurance, to May 28, 2021, the mileage of 8340 km, the first oil alarm, and spark plug 1, 2 cylinders have obvious oil, 4S does not admit that there is a problem, but insists that the reason for abnormal oil consumption. After the argument with the 4S store to no avail, 4S asked me to do a second guarantee, and according to the 4S store requirements to add 5.75L oil, and then went to see the spark plug on September 20, the oil is more obvious. The second oil alarm on January 11, 2022, drove about 7100 km from the last maintenance (the total mileage was only 15400 km), and the remaining oil in the 4S store was only 4L, and then the 4S store removed the guard plate and knocked on the pipeline. Put the oil for more than an hour, and finally put 4.2L of oil. The car owner believes that the maintenance is in full accordance with the requirements of the 4S store, adding 5.75L of oil, but after driving 7100 kilometers, the consumption of oil is more than 1.5L. However, even so, the 4S store still thinks that there is nothing wrong with the car, and the oil consumption is normal. It also said that the last time 5.75L oil was added on May 28, 2021. The reason is that the density of the oil will change with the temperature, and the owner immediately called the BMW manufacturer twice. However, the manufacturer 400 telephoned that it would convey it to the 4S store, but it was based on the judgment of the 4S store and was finally forced to add 6.1L engine oil. The owner said that the new car began to burn oil in half a year, and now it is only about 17000 kilometers, and it has been burned to the alarm twice, and the oil filling volume ranges from 5.25L to 5.75L to 6.1L. Although there are problems in the 4S store, there are a large number of oil-burning friends in our car group, who can not solve this problem through the 4S store.

Coincidentally, we learned on the complaint website that many car owners complained about the existence of burning oil in BMW engines, and found oil stains and carbon deposits on cylinder 1 and 2 spark plugs in 4S stores, and it was suspected that BMW models were burning oil, but 4S stores responded normally.

Through technical analysis, there is a crankcase ventilation device inside the engine valve chamber cover, which is closer to the first and second cylinders of the engine. If the spark plugs of the first and second cylinders are darker or wetter than the third and fourth cylinders, it is a normal physical phenomenon. If there is a large amount of oil in the spark plug of the first and second cylinder, it may be related to the cracking of the crankcase ventilator shell, which needs to be judged after further inspection by the customer to the store. In view of this failure, we have provided the distributor with detailed technical information and solutions.
