AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)03/15 Report--
According to the latest report of the Shenzhen Health Commission, from 0 to 24:00 on March 14, 39 local confirmed cases and 21 local asymptomatic infections were added in Shenzhen, and 15 new confirmed cases and 18 asymptomatic infections were imported from abroad. Prior to this, on March 13, Shenzhen COVID-19 epidemic Prevention and Control headquarters decided that in order to effectively control the risk of the spread of the epidemic, non-urban indemnificatory enterprises in Shenzhen would stop operation or work at home; in addition to ensuring urban operation and transportation of goods and materials supplied to Hong Kong, buses and subways in the city were suspended. The city's community communities, urban villages and industrial parks are managed in a closed manner. The above measures will be implemented from March 14 to 20, and will be dynamically adjusted according to the epidemic prevention and control situation.
The "red light" of the epidemic in Shenzhen has been on, slowing down and walking slowly in order to safely "cross the border." and whether Shenzhen, as the stronghold of BYD, will affect its factory production at a slow pace has also become the focus of the automobile industry. It is well known that BYD is headquartered in Longgang District, Shenzhen, and Shenzhen is also home to one of its eight vehicle factories, including the Pingshan factory in Shenzhen, the Baolong factory in Shenzhen and the Kwai Chung factory in Shenzhen. According to public data, the Shenzhen plant mainly produces BYD Han and BYD Tang, with a monthly production capacity of between 25,000 and 30,000 vehicles. If BYD's Shenzhen plant stops production from the 14th to 20th, it is expected to lose more than 5000 vehicles. However, BYD responded that the Shenzhen epidemic had some impact on the production of its Shenzhen plant, but the impact was small.
Shenzhen a BYD sales staff told reporters that the Shenzhen epidemic production or affected BYD Han EV store has a small amount in stock, but Tang DM-i medium and high-end delivery cycle is 2-3 months. At present, although the distribution store in which it is located is adversely affected by the control measures of the epidemic in Shenzhen, relevant personnel have been arranged to be on duty in the store, which does not affect the queue for signing orders.
According to previous reports, BYD is accelerating capacity expansion in order to meet the growing market demand. According to an internal data released by BYD, the eight major factories planned by BYD are expected to reach an annual production capacity of 300 to 3.5 million vehicles by the end of this year, of which three major factories in Shenzhen, Xi'an and Changsha have already been put into production. Hefei, Changzhou, Fuzhou, Zhengzhou and Jinan are expected to start production before the end of this year.
BYD is so in short supply that it has even received complaints from consumers. Data show that BYD sold 740131 cars in 2021, an increase of 73.34 percent over the same period last year, of which 593745 new energy passenger vehicles were sold, an increase of 231.60 percent over the same period last year. From January to February 2022, BYD sold 186500 cars, an increase of 194.50 percent over the same period last year, of which 180399 new energy passenger vehicles were sold, an increase of 501.45 percent over the same period last year, accounting for 97 percent of total new car sales.
Judging from BYD's production and sales data, the basic monthly production is as much as it sells. According to the data, BYD produced 91406 vehicles and sold 91078 in February, including 88326 new energy passenger vehicles and 87473 new energy passenger vehicles. It is not difficult to see from the data that BYD's output and sales are basically the same, and there will be no shortage of production and sales, while BYD is still in short supply. In recent months, BYD's production and sales have basically remained at the level of 90,000 vehicles. Even in February, which is only 28 days and the Spring Festival holiday, it is also maintained at 90,000 vehicles, which shows that BYD is not short of orders. Even if the price of BYD Guanxuan's related new energy models ranges from 1000 to 7000 yuan, the delivery time of its popular models is still very long, including Song Pro DM-i and Qin Plus DM-i models with a delivery cycle of 3-4 months.
However, although production capacity is limited, BYD will launch a number of new models this year, including the BYD DM-i/DM-p, Seal, frigate 07 and so on. Combined with previous revelations, BYD DM-i will be officially launched in early April, the appearance of the new car is highly consistent with the current model, only in some details have been upgraded, may be around 22-300000 yuan. As we all know, BYD Han currently offers EV and DM models, of which the EV model is equipped with blade batteries, which sells well, while the DM model does not have a DM-i hybrid system and the sales performance is mediocre. Therefore, as more new cars equipped with DM-i systems, such as the Han DM-i, are on the market, BYD's sales will be on the next floor. However, under the influence of the supply of spare parts and the epidemic, it also restricts the growth of production and sales to some extent.
