On the side of the body, the destroyer 05 inherits the classic design language of BYD's comparable model, and uses the design proportion of the sedan car to improve the sense of movement of the whole vehicle. The rear design echoes with the front, and the geometric lattice design of the taillights is used to echo the penetrating driving lights of the head. at the same time, the lattice effect does have a very strong degree of identification. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car is 4780/1837/1495mm, and the wheelbase is 2718mm, which is slightly larger than Qin PLUS DM-i.

In terms of power, the destroyer 05 will be equipped with a plug-in hybrid system composed of a 1.5-liter engine and a motor for Snapcloud-plug-in. According to official data, the destroyer 05 engine maximum power 81kw, peak torque 135N ·m, and according to the pure electric mileage with two different adjustments of permanent magnet synchronous motor, the maximum power is 132kw and 145kw, respectively, the peak torque is 316N ·m and 325N ·m. In terms of battery life, the new car carries blade batteries with capacities of 8.3kwh and 18.3kwh respectively, and pure electric mileage of 55km and 120km under NEDC conditions.

During the Guangzhou auto show in 2021, BYD officially announced that the existing dynasty net and e network will be adjusted to dynasty net and ocean net. E series models and ocean series models all belong to ocean net. The models sold by ocean net in the future are basically new energy models, of which the ocean series will be all pure electric models, such as "dolphins" listed before, and "seals" recently declared in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. In the future, models such as "Seagull" and "Sea Lion" will be launched based on e-platform 3.0. The warship series will focus on the DM-i super hybrid system, in which the car series will be named after the destroyer, the SUV series will be named after the cruiser, the MPV series will be named after the landing ship, and the destroyer 05 will be the first model in the warship series.

According to BYD sales KuaiBao, BYD sold 91078 cars (including passenger / commercial vehicles) in February 2022, up 335.2 per cent from the same period last year and 4.6 per cent lower than the previous month. Of these, there were only 2795 fuel vehicles, down 73.6 per cent from the same period last year, up 24.0 per cent from the previous year, while sales of new energy passenger vehicles were 87473, up 764.1 per cent from the same period last year, down 5.9 per cent from the previous month, accounting for 96 per cent of total new car sales.

According to the official website, more than 80% of the models BYD is selling are new energy vehicles, and there are only eight fuel vehicles, including Song PLUS, Song Pro, Qin, F3, etc., which account for a smaller and smaller share of BYD's sales. With the release of BYD blade battery and DM-i super hybrid system, BYD has released Qin PLUS DM-i, Song Pro DM-i, Tang DM-i and other models, and the BYD Han DM-i/DM-p will also start pre-sale on the 19th.
