On March 28, Ford Lingrui, a brand new model of Jiangling Ford, was officially launched. The new car has launched a total of four models with a price range of 13.98 yuan to 165800 yuan.
After LinkedIn and LinkedIn, Jiangling Ford launched a five-seat medium-sized SUV, which made its debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show in 2021. In terms of appearance, the new car uses the latest family design language, which is quite similar to the design of Lingyu. In the front part, the new car uses a wide polygonal grille, and the interior is designed with a polygon mesh with bright stripes, with a split headlamp group, which looks more avantgarde as a whole. On the side of the body, the new car tends to be younger in design, the side skirt and exterior rearview mirror are embellished with black elements, the window frame and door are decorated with chrome strips, and the overall lines are more smooth. In the rear part of the car, the new car adopts the family taillight group design, but cancels the through taillight group and bilateral double exhaust used by the collar, and adds the Sport tail mark instead. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4630/1935/1706mm and the wheelbase is 2726mm. Compared with cash margin, the positioning of new cars is lower than that of cash, and it is not as good as it is in length and wheelbase. For comparison, the length, width and height of cash margin are 4905/1930/1755mm and the wheelbase is 2865mm.
In the interior part, the design of the new car is very simple, with no too much decoration except the soft material wrapping the entire dashboard, equipped with a 7-inch LCD instrument and a 12.3-inch central control touch display screen, and in terms of configuration, the new car is equipped with Ford Co-Pilot360 driving assistance system to support ACC adaptive cruise, blind area monitoring, lane-changing assistance and other functions.
In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a Ford EcoBoost 170 (1.5T turbocharged gasoline engine) with a maximum power of 170hp and a peak torque of 260Nm. The transmission part matches the seven-speed wet double clutch gearbox.
Data show that Jiangling Ford is one of Ford's joint ventures in China. On January 26 this year, Jiangling Ford Technology Company, which was funded by Jiangling Motor and Ford Motor at the ratio of 51:49 shares, was established, with a registered capital of 200 million yuan, of which Jiangling Motor contributed 102 million yuan and Ford contributed 98 million yuan. In terms of products, Jiangling Ford currently has four SUV models, namely, LinkedIn, leading, Road Shaker and Leader, while the MPV is the only one on sale. Among them, Lingyu is a brand-new model launched by Jiangling Ford in March 2021, positioning medium and large SUV, with a price range of 18.98-219800 yuan. In terms of power, Ford is equipped with 2.0T engine, maximum power 163kw, maximum torque 360N m, matching 6-speed wet double clutch gearbox. It is worth mentioning that, compared with other cars of the same class, although the price of Lingyu has an advantage, the large SUV in vehicle positioning uses a 6-speed wet double clutch gearbox, which many netizens think is too "hip-pulling", so the car's sales performance is not particularly eye-catching.
In terms of sales, data show that Ford sold 624800 vehicles in China in 2021, an increase of 3.7% over the same period last year, of which Lincoln brand sales reached 91000, up 48% from the same period last year. Changan Ford brand passenger car sales reached 192300, an increase of 4.7% over the same period last year, while Jiangling Ford passenger car sales reached 30200, up 6.2% from the same period last year. Judging from the history of brand development, Jiangling Ford was founded in 1997, and its starting point is no slower than that of other joint venture brands, but in the early days, Jiangling Ford paid more attention to the development of the commercial vehicle market, and it was not until 2016 that it successively launched Ford Tureo, LinkedIn and other passenger car products, but sales of several models were also mediocre. According to the data, the cumulative sales of leading models in 2021 was 43690, the highest among Jiangling Ford's SUV models, while the other two models performed poorly, with only 1184 roadshakers in 2021 and only about 2000 in March last year.
The latest data show that from January to February this year, the cumulative sales of Leader was 2625, that of LinkedIn was 2208, and that of Road Shaker was 250. With the listing of Ford Leader, Jiangling Ford's model matrix will be further improved, at the same time, Jiangling Ford's product distribution in the SUV field will be more detailed, as to whether it can bring new performance to the SUV field remains to be verified.
