On March 28th, Guangzhou Auto Honda officially launched its new electric brand e:NP, and announced its Chinese name "Ji Pang". Officials say that extreme, represents the extreme, contains the inner desire for the unknown; surging, implying the collision of inspiration and ideas. At the same time, the first model of the brand, Jinpai 1, was unveiled at the same time, while the new car e:NP1, the compact pure electric SUV, which was officially unveiled by Guangzhou Auto Honda at the 2021 Guangzhou Auto Show, will be launched in the first half of this year and has now completed a new car declaration in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The Guangzhou Honda e:NP1 was officially launched at the 2021 Guangzhou Motor Show. From the point of view of the appearance, the new car is enclosed with an "H" LOGO design that can be lit, and the slender and sharp headlights form an integrated design with the enclosed China net, with Heart beat interactive lights, which is obviously different from the models currently on sale by Honda. On the side of the car body, a straight waistline runs through the head and tail, similar to the colorful wisdom and XR-V, the rear door also uses a hidden door handle design, but the front door is still a traditional door handle. The rear part of the car, which is different from the traditional model, does not put the "H" mark on the rear, but is replaced by the brand name of "Honda", and a small tail wing is designed at the rear of the car. In terms of size, according to the declaration information, the length, width and height of the new car are 4388/1790/1560mm and the wheelbase is 2610mm.

In terms of interior decoration, the interior layout design of the new car breaks through the existing Honda style, eliminating a large number of physical buttons, equipped with a 15.2-inch high-definition ultra-thin frame center control screen, and a 10.25-inch color all-LCD digital dashboard, the central control screen built-in Honda full-stack intelligent control ecosystem eRom N OS, which integrates the Honda SENSING 360intelligent driving assistance system and the Honda CONNECT intelligent guidance interconnection system.

In terms of power, the new car is based on the ERV N Architecture F platform and adopts the front motor layout, providing two different versions of peak power 134kW and 150kW drive motors for users to choose from. Officials did not disclose more information on battery capacity and mileage, and it is expected that models with ternary lithium battery packs and the longest mileage version will exceed 500km mileage.

On October 13, 2021, Honda China released its electrification strategy, launching a new pure electricity brand "EVOR N" and a new intelligent and efficient pure electricity architecture "ERO N Architecture". At the event, Honda China brought two new pure electric cars, the e:NS1 from Dongfeng Honda and the e:NP1 from Guangzhou Auto Honda, which are sister models to each other. Honda China announced at the press conference that it will launch 10 pure electric vehicles in the Chinese market in the next five years, and will sell only pure electric and hybrid models in China from 2030, instead of new fuel vehicles.

Guangzhou Auto Honda e:NP1 and Dongfeng Honda e:NS1 are sister models to each other and both locate the small pure electric SUV, compared with Dongfeng Honda e:NS1. The new car is on sale in advance on March 18, with a total of e-version (CLTC-powered 420km) and e-sports version (CLTC-powered 510km), priced at 18-210000 yuan. According to Dongfeng Honda's previous plan, the new car will be officially launched in April this year. Guangzhou Auto Honda e:NP1 and Dongfeng Honda e:NS1 are basically the same in appearance, interior decoration, power and so on, only in some details. In terms of power, Dongfeng Honda e:NS1 also provides two power options, of which the e-motor has a maximum power of 150kW under CLTC conditions with a mileage of 510km. The maximum power of the e-motor is 134kW and the mileage is 420km under the condition of CLTC.

At present, Guangzhou Auto Honda's listed pure electric models include EA6 (pure electric compact car) and VE-1 (pure electric small SUV). Among them, the Guangzhou Automobile Honda VE-1 is the first pure electric vehicle model of Guangzhou Automobile Honda, which is developed based on the Honda SUV platform, and its appearance is similar to that of the concept EV CONCEPT concept car. Guangzhou Automobile Honda EA6 is based on Guangzhou Automobile AION S, the overall shape draws lessons from the design style of GAC NE Aion S, only in the headlights, front encirclement, taillights and other parts have changed, can be directly regarded as Guangzhou Automobile Honda version of the "Aion S". It is worth mentioning that although Yele is a model under GAC Honda, it all hangs GAC NE's car logo. Therefore, after the launch of the EA6 and VE-1 models, GAC Honda has not received much attention in the new energy vehicle market. In the face of more and more transformation from car companies to the development of new energy, Guangzhou Auto Honda also has to speed up this development process. According to GAC Honda's plan, five Honda brand pure electric models will be launched within five years, and all the new models launched by Guangzhou Auto Honda in China after 2023 will be hybrid, plug-in hybrid, pure electric and other models. Now, the new electric brand "Ji Pao" has been released, the first model is expected to be on the market soon, as to whether consumers will buy it or not, it remains to be answered by the market.
