At present, the official situation of the Chinese name of the Chery OMODA 5 model has not been officially announced, after Chery started the campaign for the Chinese name of the OMODA 5 model through the Internet. After online solicitation, official selection and other links, the Chinese name of the TOP 5 is selected as "Yuanqi", "Mengda", "Xiao O", "Smart" and "ou Mengda". It is expected that the car will be named "Yuanqi".

Chery OMODA 5 is the first model of Chery 4.0 product evolution. In terms of appearance, the new car uses a new appearance design language. In the front part, the new car adopts the very popular borderless intake grille design, the interior of the net is decorated with a large number of rectangular elements, and the upper side of the net is integrated with the headlights on both sides, at the same time, the new car also uses a sporty style of encirclement, which makes the whole car look younger. On the side of the body, the new car uses a slip-back style and the design elements of a suspended model, which enhances the sense of movement of the whole car. In terms of sales, the data show that the cumulative sales of the Chery brand in 2021 was 656846 vehicles (including exports), an increase of 46.3% over the same period last year, of which Ruihu 8 sold 120684 vehicles, accounting for 18% of the total brand sales. In February, sales of Ruihu 8, Ruihu 7, Arize 5, Ruihu 5X and Ruihu 3X were 5509, 3158, 2721, 2407 and 723. Among them, the highest sales volume from January to February is still Ruihu 8, with cumulative sales of 21314 vehicles, followed by Ruihu 7, with cumulative sales of 12241 vehicles. With the mass production of Kunpeng DHT hybrid technology and the launch of the new medium-sized SUV Chery OMODA 5 model, it may be able to inject new sources of sales for the Chery brand.

According to the previous plan, Chery's annual sales target is 1.5 million-2 million vehicles in 2022. In order to achieve the target as scheduled, in addition to the above-mentioned Chery OMODA 5 new cars, Chery will launch a number of new cars this year, including Ruihu 8 Pro, Chery "M1E", Jetway Dasheng, Jetway TmurX and Xingtuzufeng ET-i, Xingtuo Yaoguang production version and other new cars.
