Guangzhou Automobile Honda, Guangzhou Automobile Toyota, Dongfeng Nissan and other major vehicle production enterprises have halted production lines and halted production.

Guangzhou Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. was established on July 1, 1998. an enterprise jointly invested and operated by Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd., Honda Technology Research Industry Co., Ltd. and Honda Technology Research Industry (China) Investment Co., Ltd., according to the share ratio at 50:40:10, the term of the joint venture is 30 years. At present, Guangzhou Auto Honda has Huangpu plant, Zengcheng factory and the third factory and engine factory in Guangzhou.

The term of the joint venture is 30 years. At present, Guangzhou Auto Toyota has only one vehicle manufacturing plant in Guangzhou, which is located in Nansha District of Guangzhou City.

Guangzhou Auto Honda and Guangzhou Automobile Toyota are joint venture brands of GAC GROUP and are also the main sources of GAC GROUP's sales. Data show that GAC GROUP's cumulative car sales in 2021 rose 4.92% year-on-year to 2.144 million vehicles, of which Guangzhou Auto Toyota increased 8.23% year-on-year to 828000 vehicles, while Guangzhou Auto Honda fell 3.17% to 780000 vehicles. GAC GROUP's cumulative car sales in the first quarter of 2022 increased by 22.48 per cent year-on-year to 608000 vehicles, of which Guangzhou Auto Toyota and Guangzhou Automobile Honda increased by 23.44 per cent to 247000 and 16.75 per cent to 212000 respectively. The two joint ventures accounted for 75 per cent of the group's total sales.

Dongfeng Nissan is one of the passenger car brands of Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. (DFL), which was established on June 9, 2003 as a joint venture between Dongfeng Automobile Group Co., Ltd. and Nissan Motor Company at 50:50. Although it is a brand of Dongfeng Automobile Co., Ltd., it is headquartered in Huadu District, Guangzhou City. The Huadu factory is the earliest factory and the largest production base of Dongfeng Nissan. The factory is composed of a factory and a second factory. Retail sales in the narrow passenger car market averaged 27000 vehicles a day in the second week of April, down 39 per cent from a year earlier and 33 per cent lower than the average in the second week of March, according to the Federation of passengers. Retail sales averaged 25000 vehicles a day in the first two weeks of April, down 35% from a year earlier, reflecting relatively low demand amid recent complex outbreaks. With regard to the indication of the domestic car market in the second quarter, Cui Dongshu, secretary general of the Federation of passengers, believes that the loss of the automobile industry chain temporarily static caused by the Shanghai epidemic is huge, and the impact of the outage of secondary parts will seriously affect sales in the second quarter. The trend in the second quarter depends on the recovery rate of Shanghai under the epidemic, and retail sales are expected to achieve zero growth for the whole year.
