On April 22nd, Chang'an LUMIN was officially unveiled. As a brand-new model under Changan Automobile, the new car is based on Changan EPA0 platform, positioning pure electric minicar, and offers three life-lasting versions of 155km, 210km and 301km. According to the declaration map released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Changan LUMIN may be named "waxy corn" and adopt a new brand LOGO.

As a mini car, the Chang'an LUMIN still adopts a round and cute design route, with a round headlamp group and an integrated profile outside the lower grid. On the side of the body, the Changan LUMIN adopts a double-door body plus rear door structure, with a set of 14-inch white decorative rims, and the door handle adopts the popular hidden design. In the rear part, the taillight design echoes with the headlights to improve the vehicle recognition. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 3270/1700/1545mm and the wheelbase is 1980mm. In terms of color matching, the new car offers seven body colors: fog white, moss green, lake blue, magpie gray, dew green, wheat yellow and cherry powder.

Into the car, the overall layout basically continues the appearance of the design style, using blue, white, gray composition of color matching, its 10.25in touch screen, collection of reversing images, mobile phone interconnection, voice control, Bluetooth music / phone, personalized UI selection (cool black minimalist and whisper) and other functions. The central control area retains the air conditioning control knob and physical buttons, and the shift knob and window opening and closing keys are set on the central console to maintain the convenience of operation.

In terms of power, there are two supplier versions of the drive motor of Changan LUMIN, and the maximum power is 30kW. The battery is equipped with lithium iron phosphate battery of Zhongchuangxin Airlines, which has the capacity of 12.92kWh, 17.65kWh and 27.99kWh, corresponding to 155km, 210km and 301km.

Changan LUMIN is the second mini car under Changan New Energy, and Changan Mercedes-Benz E-Star is relatively popular in the market. Since SAIC GM Wuling launched the Hongguang MINIEV as a popular model, there have been more and more imitators on the market, including Chery QQ Ice Cream, Reading Mango, Punk Duoduo, Lingbao BOX, Baizhi Big Bear and today's Scenic MINIEV, all of which have adopted more square designs and are very close to Hongguang MINIEV in price. In other words, the launch of these models is largely due to the popularity of the Hongguang MINIEV, which is mainly due to its low price, its small appearance, the daily transportation of the city also meets the needs of most consumers, and can enjoy policies such as unlimited number and free parking, making mini electric vehicles enduring in the electric vehicle market. Take the list of new energy vehicle sales in March as an example, three of the top 10 models were mini cars, with Hongguang MINIEV ranked first with 41980 vehicles, Chery QQ ice cream ranked sixth with 11687 vehicles, and Changan Mercedes-Benz E-Star ranked eighth with 10707 vehicles.

Of course, although minicars are very popular, their profits are very low. In fact, many car companies layout minicars, in addition to taking on the task of volume, more is the stimulation of the double points policy. Take Hongguang MINIEV as an example, its bicycle profit is less than 90 yuan, and its bicycle profit will also shrink in the context of rising chip and battery prices. Although Hongguang MINIEV's profit is low, it can earn a lot of money by selling double points, which is more profitable than selling cars. According to the "double points Annual report" released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, SAIC GM Wuling ranked third with 440000 new energy positive points in 2020, and most of its new energy positive points come from Hongguang MINIEV. If you sell all the new energy points, you can get 530 million yuan.

However, due to the explosion of new energy vehicles, the points generated by new energy vehicles are getting bigger and bigger, so their value will become lower and lower, while the value of new energy points will become lower and lower, so the profit contribution to car companies will certainly be significantly affected. After all, with the shortage of chips and rising prices of raw materials, the profits of new energy vehicles are compressed to the extreme, and in this context, they are willing to list brand-new minicars. Still have high hopes for the sale of new energy points.

Changan LUMIN is scheduled to be delivered from June to July, and after its launch, the car may compete with Wuling Hongguang MINIEV (3.28-69800 yuan) and Chery New Energy QQ ice cream (3.99-49900 yuan).
