Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products, filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration, recalling the following vehicles from May 11, 2022.

Recall some imported NX 260,350h NX 350h and NX 400h + cars from March 31, 2021 to March 17, 2022, totaling 6832.

The reason for the recall: due to the improper internal control procedures of the multi-function display system in the scope of this recall, the screen of the multi-function display may not be able to switch normally when the shift operation is carried out or the vehicle is driving. at this time, the video picture played before will be maintained on the display screen, which may distract the driver and cause security risks.

Solution: Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will upgrade the multi-function display screen program for vehicles within the recall range free of charge through the vehicle remote upgrade (OTA) technology, and users can upgrade the program without going to the store. For vehicles that cannot be recalled through remote upgrade (OTA) technology, Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will contact users through Lexus dealers to upgrade the multi-function display screen for vehicles free of charge to eliminate safety concerns.

Recall 2589 imported NX 260, NX 350h and NX 400h + cars with production dates from March 31, 2021 to January 28, 2022.

The reason for the recall: due to improper welding equipment procedures for some vehicles within the scope of this recall, there may be missing welding inside the front fender assembly used to fix the left / right front shock absorber on the car body, and when the vehicle is used continuously in this state, cracks may occur around the solder joint, which in extreme cases will affect the driving stability of the vehicle and cause safety risks.

Solution: Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will inspect the left / right front fender fender assembly for free for vehicles within the recall scope, and repair welding if there is leakage welding; if there are cracks, replace the front fender fender assembly to eliminate safety risks.

From the recall announcement, due to safety risks, Toyota recalled a total of 9421 imported Lexus according to different production dates, including imported Lexus NX 260, NX 350h, NX 400hull, most of which can be solved through OTA technology, OTA technology is simply understood as online remote upgrade, and does not involve automotive hardware issues.

Lexus NX is one of the main sales of Lexus models, and the first generation of models has a history of seven years since it was launched in 2014. According to automotive industry concerns, the first generation of Lexus NX made its global debut at the Beijing Auto Show in 2014 and was officially launched in the fourth quarter of the same year. The car offers three power options, including NX200 with a naturally aspirated engine, NX200t with Lexus's newly developed 2.0L turbocharged engine and NX300h with oil-electric hybrid system. The second-generation Lexus NX was released on June 12, 2021 and launched in China on November 19, 2021. It offers plug-in hybrid, hybrid and gasoline power options. According to relevant data, the number of Lexus insured in China in 2021 was 219200, down 6.89% from the same period last year, including 105800 Lexus ES, 48600 Lexus RX, 36500 Lexus NX and 15400 Lexus UX, compared with 4936 Lexus NX from January to March this year.
