As a reference, the price range of the current Red Flag H5 is 145800 yuan to 190800 yuan.

Combined with the new car and the official picture released on March 10th, the appearance of the new car is similar to that of Red Flag H9. In the front part, the new car uses a similar vertical bar grille design to H9, with split LED light sets on both sides and LED light source inside. In terms of body color, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the new car offers six paint colors, including Red Flag Red, Quantum Silver Grey, Yao Ye Brown, Alpine Yingbai, Mei Night Black II and Aurora Blue, adding an optional color to the Red Flag H5 currently on sale.

On the side of the body, as a replacement model, the new car cancels the previous slip-back shape and uses more concise lines. In addition, although the new car door handle does not adopt the hidden design of Red Flag H9, the new car is equipped with red flag family-style decorative elements at the back of the front fender. In the rear part, the new car uses a through taillight group design, and uses a Y-shaped ending on both sides, and the exhaust system is a bilateral two-way design, which looks chic as a whole. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new Red Flag H5 is 4988/1875/1470mm, and the wheelbase is 2920mm. As a reference, the length, width and height of the current Red Flag H5 is 4945x1845x1470 and the wheelbase is 2875mm. In contrast, the new car has improved except for its height, including 43mm in length, 30mm in width and 45mm in wheelbase.

In the interior part, the new car uses a center console with a vertical large screen and LCD dashboard, a row of shortcut buttons under the screen, and a three-spoke steering wheel similar to the styling style of the Red Flag H9. In terms of power, according to previously exposed MIIT application information, the new car is expected to provide three power options, which are 1.5T engine, 1.5T hybrid system and 2.0T engine, corresponding to "35TD", "HEV" and "40TD" respectively. Among them, the engine power of 1.5T and 1.5T hybrid system is 124 kilowatts, and that of 2.0T engine is 165 kilowatts. In comparison, the 1.5T engine is the same as the 1.5T engine carried by the current Hongqi H5, while the 1.8T engine may no longer be available.

Data show that Red Flag is a high-end car brand directly operated by FAW. The first Red Flag car was born in 1958 and became a state vehicle for national leaders and major national events. Before 2018, Red Flag brand sales were so mediocre that it was on the verge of delisting. Until January 2018, China FAW released the new red flag brand strategy, with "Chinese-style new noble refinement" as the brand concept, sales began to improve. According to the red flag wholesale sales data, from 2018 to 2021, the red flag sales distribution is 25294, 100016, more than 200000, more than 300000. From the data, we can see the trend of red flag sales growth year by year, and the growth rate is very fast. On April 25, 2018, Hongqi H5 officially launched, positioning medium-sized sedan, equipped with 1.5T and 1.8T engines, matching 7-gear double clutch and 6-gear self-integrated gearbox, the vehicle price is 145800-190800 yuan, Hongqi is the only model with a price of less than 200000 yuan. Because Red Flag H5 uses the technology of Mazda Atez, it is not until the release of Red Flag H9 that Red Flag brand has more of its own characteristics, so Red Flag H5 can still see Attez in some aspects. therefore, it is called "Little H9" by netizens. In addition, the Red Flag H5, as a domestic classic model, has become the sales responsibility of FAW Red Flag because of its relatively close price. Public data show that Hongqi H5 has accumulated retail sales of 80334 vehicles in 2021 and 22088 vehicles from January to March in 2022, second only to Hongqi HS5 (33017 vehicles).

Up to now, Hongqi's existing product camp has two major product systems: the car family and the SUV family, covering the middle and high-end market of 15-700000 yuan, covering fuel and pure electricity, of which the car family has four models: H5, H7, H9 and E-QM5, and the SUV family has four models: HS5, HS7, E-HS3 and E-HS9. FAW Red Flag has previously said that four major product camps will be formed in the future: h-series (mainstream cars), L-series (supreme cars), Q-series (commercial vehicles) and S-series (supercars). Up to now, all the products on the market belong to H series, which is also the main product series of Red Flag brand at present, while the first model of L series, Red Flag LS7, has been officially pre-sold on April 24th and is expected to be launched soon.

FAW Red Flag has sold more than 300000 vehicles in 2021, an increase of more than 50% over the same period last year. For this year's sales target, FAW Red Flag has set a target of 450000-500000 vehicles. With the launch of new cars such as Red Flag H5 and Red Flag LS7 this year, FAW Red Flag sales may be further improved.
