At the same time, Guo Sijun, deputy secretary of the Yuhua District CPC Committee in Changsha City, appeared at the BYD Yuhua District factory and told residents of the nearby district: "We are already conducting a comprehensive study and are closely docking and communicating with enterprises." Please believe that we will adhere to the supremacy of the people and life, and will give you a reasonable answer.

On the evening of May 7, residents around the BYD factory in Changsha collectively came to the factory gate to safeguard their rights because they believed that the emissions from the factory had an impact on the health of the residents in the surrounding community. According to Phoenix New Media Technology and other media reports, there are strong pungent smells such as paint, burning plastic and cow dung near BYD's Changsha factory, with the most pungent smell from evening to early morning. More than a dozen communities near the factory, China Jiahe City, more than 1,000 residents of China Construction Phoenix Station, Union Jiayuan, Olympic Garden, China Aviation City, Xinxing District, Changtan Jiayuan, Evergrande City, Bochang Landscape Xiangyi, and country Garden Nancheng Capital District said they were affected.

On the official website of "political Affairs Hunan", a number of users reflected on the problems of the BYD factory in Changsha: "I am a resident around BYD Company at 88 Environmental Protection East Road, Yuhua District, Changsha, with a population of more than 100,000. At the end of last year, BYD expanded its second phase and added a new altered welding workshop, which was put into production in April this year, resulting in rampant paint smell, serious nosebleeds and respiratory tract infections among surrounding residents." However, as of press time, there is no evidence that the discomfort of resident children is related to the BYD factory in Changsha.

BYD's official Weibo statement said that BYD's Yuhua District Industrial Park in Changsha was put into operation in 2012 and that its emissions comply with relevant state regulations and standards. In some residential areas close to the industrial park, or the existence of odor, the company has taken relevant measures and actively improved. In view of the nosebleed caused by excessive emissions, BYD said it was a malicious fabrication of the connection, the company has called the police, and will pursue the legal liability of the relevant personnel. However, a person close to BYD revealed that "the factory has stopped production for rectification".
