For the decline in sales across the board, Nissan said it was affected by external factors such as a shortage of raw materials across the industry, key areas and urban controls caused by COVID-19 's epidemic. In April this year, Dongfeng Nissan production was temporarily suspended at factories in many parts of the country affected by the epidemic. According to the production line schedule of Dongfeng Nissan insiders, some production lines at Dongfeng Nissan's Guangzhou Huadu factory have been suspended since April 13, while the first, second and third lines have all stopped production from 14 to 19 and resumed work on the 20th. At that time, a person in charge of Dongfeng Nissan said that it was mainly affected by the epidemic in Shanghai and other places. For example, there were 83 suppliers in Shanghai, most of them were electronic products, and all of them were core components manufacturers. In addition, the official also said: "because of the epidemic in Shanghai, the surrounding logistics can not be arranged normally, which has a great impact on our production plan."

In response to the latest sales performance, Mr. Shohei Yamazaki, senior vice president of Nissan Motor Company, chairman of Nissan China Management Committee and president of Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd., said: "continuing chip shortages, supply chain disruptions and key regional and urban controls caused by the intensification of COVID-19 's epidemic have had a sustained impact on product production and sales."

According to the concern of the automotive industry, Dongfeng Nissan passenger car Company, founded on June 16, 2003, is an important passenger car sector of Dongfeng Automobile Group Co., Ltd., with three brands: Nissan, Qichen and Infiniti. On November 29th last year, Nissan officially released "Nissan Vision 2030". According to its plan, Nissan plans to invest 2 trillion yen ($17.6 billion) in the next five years to turn more product lines into electrification. For example, Nissan will launch 20 pure electric models and models equipped with Nissan e-POWER technology in the next five years. In addition, Nissan also said it will launch 23 electrified vehicles in fiscal year 2030. These include 15 electric vehicles. Nissan hopes to account for 50 per cent of global electric-driven models under its Nissan and Infiniti brands by fiscal year 2030 (2030.4.1-2031.3.31).
