Huawei terminal BG CEO, Huawei smart car solution BU CEO Yu Chengdong "exaggeration" is nothing new, which seems to have become a marketing tool. At the 2022 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Auto Show, Yu Chengdong once again made a startling remark, saying bluntly that "the era of pure fuel cars will end quickly, and now we still buy fuel cars, just like buying functional phones in the era of smartphones."

Yu Chengdong said that the era of pure fuel cars will certainly come to an end quickly. If people buy cars and still buy fuel cars today, just like when smart phones first came, many people who bought feature phones at that time, I think the era of function phones will come to an end quickly. Everyone will transform, so the coming of the era of smart phones, like the advent of smart electric connected cars, is the general trend and the necessity of history. This era will accelerate. We are also very happy to see the development of China's automobile industry, including a series of enterprises such as BYD.

Earlier, Li Bin, chairman of Xilai Automobile, also expressed similar views. On NIO Day in 2021, Li Bin leaned against a corner of the sofa and answered a question about the comparison between new energy vehicles and fuel vehicles, causing an instant uproar. Li Bin said, "I don't understand why people still buy gas cars now." This is how nostalgic it is to buy an oil car. apart from smelling gasoline, what else is there to do with it? "

Of course, the ass determines the head. Whether it is Yu Chengdong or Li Bin, the relevant remarks are naturally related to their position. According to the Federation of passengers, retail sales in the domestic narrow passenger car market totaled 4.915 million in the first quarter, down 4.5 per cent from a year earlier. Of these, domestic sales of new energy vehicles were 1.07 million, up 146.6 percent from the same period last year, while sales of traditional fuel vehicles were 3.845 million, down 18.4 percent from the same period last year. Although new energy vehicles have made rapid development, it is obviously too absolute to want new energy vehicles to replace fuel vehicles, ignoring the disadvantages such as endurance anxiety, insufficient charging piles and low value preservation rate.

Perhaps it is only a matter of time before automakers stop producing fuel vehicles amid increasingly stringent carbon regulations and global carbon neutralization targets. Among them, BAIC, Changan and Nissan will completely stop selling fuel vehicles in 2025, Mercedes-Benz and Honda will stop selling fuel vehicles in 2030 and 2040 respectively, Toyota plans to take the lead in 2030 to stop selling fuel vehicles in China, Europe and North America, BMW plans to stop selling fuel vehicles in 2030, Volkswagen and Kia plan to stop selling fuel vehicles in 2035. In addition, GM, Ford, Jaguar, Volvo, Aston Martin and Maserati have also made it clear that they will stop selling fuel vehicles in the future.

At the same time, the market has also given positive cooperation. According to the incomplete statistics of the auto industry, including Norway, the Netherlands, France, the United Kingdom, California, Germany and India and other markets have said that the sale of fuel vehicles will be banned. In the Chinese market, the State Council issued the "carbon Dafeng Action Plan before 2030" on October 26, 2021, clearly proposing to vigorously promote new energy vehicles and gradually reduce the production and sales ratio of fuel vehicles. Previously, Hainan Province took the lead in putting forward the goal of "completely suspending the sale of fuel vehicles by 2030" as early as 2019.

It has to be admitted that the product competitiveness of fuel vehicles has indeed become weak, and to a great extent, the technical conditions of fuel vehicles restrict the design language, while large-scale design resources cannot be given under high costs. it is even more impossible to tolerate complex designs that cause a lot of trouble at the manufacturing end, so there has been little breakthrough in the mainstream price range in recent years. Dolls, face change, and playing lights have become the mainstream play. However, fuel vehicles have been developed for more than a century, bringing people more convenient ways to travel, while emissions also cause the pressure of environmental pollution, and new energy vehicles are regarded as a way to alleviate the pressure on the ecological environment. But we should be clear that there is no relationship between new energy vehicles and fuel vehicles.

In the 20 years of the development of China's automobile industry, fuel vehicles have always been the mainstream of the market. The competition in China's fuel vehicle market is very fierce, and it has become the largest market in the world. With the change of the times and the improvement of consumption level, the automobile industry and the environment complement each other and cause a lot of problems. Now fuel vehicles are also facing the new competitor of new energy vehicles. How long can fuel vehicles survive? As a novice, how should new energy vehicles compete with fuel vehicles?

On the other hand, new energy vehicles have indeed made great progress. However, from the current market point of view, there are still many problems in the development of new energy vehicles, whether in products, services or terminal markets and infrastructure construction, all need to be improved and layout for a long time. Winter mileage anxiety and traditional holiday queue charging scene is vivid, it is not realistic for electric vehicles to completely replace fuel vehicles in a short time.

Perhaps, as Yu Chengdong said, the era of new energy vehicles has come, but it is only here, consumers will eventually have a process of acceptance, and how long this process will take is obviously unknown. What's more, the relationship between new energy vehicles and fuel vehicles is not contradictory, but balanced and complementary, and there will not be the phenomenon that fuel vehicles are completely replaced by electric vehicles. In addition, because of the disadvantages of new energy passenger vehicles, it is difficult for them to quickly complete the task of "replacing" fuel vehicles.
