On May 30th, Changan Deep Blue SL03, the first new energy vehicle under Changan Automobile's brand, made its official debut. The new car, the first model after the launch of Changan Deep Blue brand, is based on Changan's new EPA1 pure electric platform and is positioned as a medium-sized car with a price range of 200000 yuan. It is expected to go on sale at the end of June or early July.
As the first model of the new brand built by Changan Automobile, the internal code name of the SL03 model is C385, which was first released on August 24th, 2021. On April 13 this year, Changan Automobile officially announced its new pure electric brand-Changan Deep Blue, and its first model is the above-mentioned internal code name "C385" model. Then, on May 13, Changan Automobile announced the LOGO of its new brand Changan Deep Blue and the official name of its new model-Changan Deep Blue SL03.
At present, the new car has appeared on the declaration of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the official picture of the new car has also been released to the outside. In terms of appearance, the new car has adopted the brand-new electric vehicle design style of Changan Automobile. The overall shape is very novel and highly recognizable. Specifically, in the front part, the new car uses the iconic closed grille of the new energy vehicle, with the popular split headlight group design on both sides, and a triangular cone style LOGO composed of three triangular planes in the middle, which makes the whole front face look quite avant-garde.
On the side of the body, the new car uses the popular hatchback rear door design, but also uses a hidden door knob. From the picture, the rim design style of the new car is also very consistent with the positioning of pure electric models. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car is 4820/1890/1480mm, the wheelbase is 2900mm, and the position is a medium-sized car. For comparison, Tesla Model 3 has a length, width and height of 4694/1850/1443mm and a wheelbase of 2875mm, while a BYD seal has a length, width and height of 4800/1875/1460mm and a wheelbase of 2920mm. From the body size, the new car is comparable to BYD Seal.
In the rear part, the new car uses a penetrating taillight and is equipped with a two-stage fixed spoiler, which echoes with the front face and is partial to the movement style as a whole.
Interior part, the overall design of the new car is relatively simple, mainly black as the main color, with silver ornaments, configuration, the new car is equipped with a large central suspension screen, full liquid crystal dashboard and double-spoke multi-function steering wheel. Power is the biggest highlight of the new car, the new car uses a variety of different forms of drive system, including pure electric, extended range version and hydrogen electric version. Among them, the pure electric version provides two motor versions, 160kW and 190kW, which match the battery packs of different capacity, and the comprehensive mileage of the extended version is 515km and 712km respectively; the extended version is equipped with a drive system based on 1.5L engine and motor, and the comprehensive mileage of the system is 1200km under pure electric mode under the condition of 200km; also under the CLTC condition, the range of the hydrogen version can reach 700km.
In terms of competition, it is expected that the new car will compete with Tesla Model 3 and BYD seals after its launch. In terms of power, the new car has more advantages than Tesla Model 3. Changan Deep Blue SL03 has attracted everyone's attention since it was exposed last year, but in addition to the SL03 model, the Changan Deep Blue brand plans four more models in the future, including the declared Changan LUMIN (EPA0 platform) and three larger EPA1 platform models. The latest data show that from January to April this year, the cumulative sales of Changan Automobile was 767200, down 9.02% from the same period last year, of which 622200 were sold by independent brands, down 9.63% from the same period last year, and 426400 independent passenger vehicles, down 10.36% from the same period last year. In April, Changan automobile sales were 115700, down 42.78% from the same period last year. The main reason for the decline was due to the pressure of the supply chain and frequent outbreaks in many places.
For this year's annual sales target, Changan Automobile previously set 2.45 million vehicles, of which 1.857 million were produced and sold by its own brands, an increase of 5.9% over the same period last year and a market share of 11%. One-third of the time has passed. Changan Automobile has achieved 31% of the total production and sales target for the whole year. According to the development expectations of the automobile industry, the second half of this year will be the peak of car sales, with the expansion of sub-brands and the listing of a number of new cars. Changan's sales target should not be difficult to achieve. As for the longer-term 2025, Changan Automobile plans to completely stop the sale of fuel vehicles in 2025, when the sales of new energy vehicles will reach 1.05 million, accounting for 35% of the total sales. By 2030, Changan will sell 5.5 million vehicles, of which 4.5 million are in the independent sector and 2.7 million in new energy, accounting for 60%.
