At the 2021 Guangzhou Auto Show, the new FAW-Volkswagen Suiteng model appeared in public for the first time, with adjustments to the appearance and interior and equipped with Volkswagen's newly developed 1.5T EA211 EVO engine. As a medium-term modified model, the appearance of the new Suiteng has changed greatly. The forward air grille has been changed from the original linear type to a dot matrix intake grille, and the internal structure of the headlamp cavity has been redesigned. The front fog lamp and the front enclosure have done a scalable treatment. In the rear part, the internal structure has been adjusted, and the chrome decoration of bilateral exhaust has been added to the new car. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4791/1801/1465mm, the wheelbase is 2731mm, the width and height and wheelbase are the same as the current model, but the length has increased, and it is expected to have a better experience in space.

In terms of interior decoration, the new Suiteng has been replaced with a brand new 12-inch suspended central control screen, which has an increase in the size of the embedded screen with a maximum of 9.2 inches. At the same time, the new car is equipped with a brand new three-spoke steering wheel, which is also the current family design of the Volkswagen brand. In addition, the new Suiteng high-end model continues to be equipped with touch air-conditioning panels and full LCD dashboards, and the seat style is replaced by a mesh texture design, which looks very textured.

As a medium-term revamped model, the new car carries the EA211 1.5T EVO engine for the first time on the basis of the current 1.2T and 1.4T four-cylinder engines. Specifically, the maximum power of 1.2T and 1.4T is 116 horsepower and 150 horsepower respectively, and the peak torque of 1.2T is 175N m and 200N m, respectively, which is matched by a five-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dry double-clutch gearbox with a peak torque of 250N / m at 1.4T, and a seven-speed dry double-clutch gearbox. Specifically, the new Suiteng 1.2T model cancels two over-the-top models, while the prices of the retained two overflight models are both down.

As a medium-term revamped model, the new Bora has less changes in appearance and interior, abandoning 1.5L engines and replacing 1.2T and 1.4T engines. As a reference, the price range of the cash Bora is 9.88-157000 yuan, and the pre-sale of the new Bora is 11.39-142900 yuan.

As the medium-term modified model of this generation Bora, the new Bora mainly adjusts the appearance details, making it more concise and younger. By comparing with the current model, it is not difficult to find that the front grille of the new model reduces the internal vertical chromium plating decoration on the basis of maintaining a single banner chrome strip, and the shape of the headlight group is fine-tuned. At the same time, the new Bora front bumper on both sides of the new C-shaped chromium plating decoration, and retain the front fog lamp, fog light source upgraded from halogen to LED. The rear part of the car, the new Bora rear shape modification is not obvious, the main adjustment is concentrated in the lower part of the rear bumper chrome trim area. However, the new car's taillights have been upgraded to the IQ.LIGHT matrix LED light group, and the reversing lights have been changed from one-sided lighting of cash models to two-sided lighting. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new Bora are 4672/1815/1462mm and the wheelbase is 2688mm.

In terms of interior decoration, similar to the new Suiteng, the new Bora also uses a new suspended central control screen (12 inches) and a full LCD dashboard (10.25 inches), and is replaced with the Volkswagen family's latest three-spoke multi-function steering wheel. At the same time, the center console of the new car removes the hard highlight panel and covers it with a brand new soft package with partial stitches, which is expected to provide gray and brown colors.

As a medium-term revamped model, the biggest change of the new Bora is in the power system, which abandons the 1.5L engine of the current Bora and offers only 1.2T and 1.4T engines. The maximum power of 1.2T engine is 85kw, the peak torque is 200N ·m, and the maximum power of 1.4T engine is 110kw, and the peak torque is 250N ·m. In terms of transmission, the 7-speed dry double clutch gearbox is matched with 1.2T and 1.4T engines.

From the internal positioning point of view, Bora positioning is lower than Suiteng. As an A-class car, potential competitors are Lang Yi (10.09-159900 yuan), Xuanyi (9.98-174900 yuan), Carola (10.98-159800 yuan) and so on. Take 2022 sales as an example, Xuanyi, Leiling and Lang Yi occupy the top three compact car sales list. With the launch of the new Bora, its production power has improved compared with the cash model, which may be able to drive its performance in the market, but the competitive pressure that the new Bora has to face is also increasing, including Lang Yi from the same door.
