According to Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "GAC GROUP") released production and marketing KuaiBao in May. Data show that GAC GROUP's production and sales in May were 192400 and 183100 respectively, up 16.12 per cent and 3.54 per cent respectively from a year earlier. In addition, GAC GROUP's cumulative production and sales volume from January to May were 919200 and 915500 respectively, up 9.70% and 6.40% respectively from the same period last year. (the above figures are all wholesale sales, also known as manufacturer sales, which refers to the total amount of bulk shipments of automakers to dealers in a given period, because automakers generally do not sell cars directly.)

For GAC GROUP's report card, the most "outstanding" performance is not GAC Toyota, nor GAC Honda, but the American brand GAC Fick. Data show that Guangzhou Auto Fick's production and sales in May were all 1, down 99.89% and 99.93% respectively from the same period last year. It is worth mentioning that this is the third month that this has happened in Guangzhou Auto Fick. The production and sales of Guangzhou Auto Fick showed "-" in April, while the production and sales in March were also only 1.

According to the official website, Guangzhou Auto Fick has five models on sale, including the Compass, Grand Commander, Free Light, Liberty Man and Commander PHEV. Among them, the Compass is the backbone of the Jeep brand, with sales of 8991 vehicles in 2021. The model is produced by the Guangzhou factory and 6791 by the Grand Commander, and the model is produced by the Changsha factory. It is understood that Guangzhou Auto Fick has established production bases in Changsha and Guangzhou, in which Changsha factory mainly produces free light and big commander, Guangzhou factory mainly produces free man and compass, with a total design capacity of 328000 vehicles. Guangzhou factory was closed on September 8, 2021.

The Guangzhou factory undertakes half of the sales volume of Guangzhou Auto Fick, and even if the original production line of the Changsha plant is shut down and the original production line operates normally, it will not fall to the point where production and sales are almost zero, so what causes this situation? at present, GAC GROUP and Stellantis Group have not explained the reasons.

Data show that GAC Fick's cumulative sales from January to May in 2022 were 1861, down 83.39% from the same period last year, including 1 in May, down 99.93% from the same period last year. It should be noted that GAC GROUP reported wholesale sales, that is, the volume that GAC Fick supplied to car dealers, compared with only one vehicle in May, indicating that GAC Fick shipped only one vehicle in May. This means that GAC Fick has not supplied to dealers for many months in a row, dealers have been out of stock, and most dealers are mainly dealt with temporarily through inventory cars in the short term. For comparison, in May 2022, the Grand Commander retail 338 vehicles, Free Light 39 vehicles, and Compass 2 vehicles.

A dealer said, "the manufacturer has not supplied us for a long time. The instructor actually does not have a car on hand, and the specific production schedule of the factory has not yet been decided, while the free light and the main sales commander do have a small number of existing cars." but it also depends on the specific color and configuration. " In addition, the head of the dealer also said that they had discussed the issue of vehicle supply with the manufacturer before, but the manufacturer had not come up with a remedial plan to deal with it, and the coordination letter submitted had not received any feedback. If there is no guarantee of supply, they do not know what to do next.

In terms of specific brands, "Liangtian" is still the sales pillar of GAC GROUP, but there is short-term pressure under the influence of the epidemic and the supply of spare parts. According to the data, GAC Honda's wholesale sales fell 27.40% year-on-year to 47124 vehicles, and retail sales fell 15.9% year-on-year to 52724 vehicles, including 14053 Accord, 11228 colorful Intelligence, 9145 Haoying, 7588 style, 3042 Fido, 2463 Odyssey, 2,402 Crown Road and 2 125 Ling Pai. GAC Toyota's wholesale sales rose 19.68 per cent year-on-year to 83800 vehicles, while retail sales fell 3.1 per cent to 70046 vehicles, including 16694 Camry, 13291 Leiling, 8620 Weilanda, 7281 Hanlanda, 6591 Fenglanda and 6574 Sena.

Like GAC Fick, GAC-Mitsubishi has become an encumbrance to the group. According to the data, GAC-Mitsubishi sales fell 71.13 per cent in May from a year earlier to 1501 vehicles, and cumulative sales from January to May fell 52.62 per cent to 11942 vehicles. According to the official website of GAC-Mitsubishi, there are currently seven models on sale under the brand, including pure electric SUV Artuco, Olander, Xin Jinxuan, Yige three fuel vehicles and three original imported cars. Take the March data as an example, GAC-Mitsubishi wholesale sales were 2002, of which 1633 were Olander, 178Jinxuan ASX, 105Artuco and 86 Yige. In terms of models, the Outlander is the highest-selling model of GAC-Mitsubishi, which was made in China in 2016. At that time, the third-generation mid-term modified model was introduced, and now it has reached the end of product development, while GAC-Mitsubishi has been slow to put into production of a new generation of models, which makes Olander's performance in the market getting worse and worse. For GAC GROUP and Mitsubishi, the situation of GAC-Mitsubishi is not optimistic.

Compared with fuel vehicles, the independent new energy vehicle brand GAC Ean also followed the market surge, with sales up 150.19% year-on-year to 21056 vehicles in May and 121.8% to 76142 vehicles from January to May. According to the official website, GAC EA's models for sale include Aion S, Aion Y, Aion V and AIon LX, of which Aion S is the main product, with retail sales of 10503 in May.
