In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with a 1.8T turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a maximum power of 155kW and peak torque 300Nm, which will be matched by an Aixin 8-speed manual transmission. For comparison, other versions of 4008 have a 1.6L turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 125kW and a peak torque of 250Nm, which also match an 8-block self-contained gearbox.

According to the concern of the automobile industry, Peugeot is a brand under the French PSA Group, which first entered the Chinese market in 1985. On October 25th, Dongfeng Motor Company signed a joint venture contract with France's PSA Group to expand cooperation, introducing the Peugeot brand into the Chinese market, manufactured by Citroen Motors, and launched its first model-Peugeot 307 two years later. This new car is a new model of Peugeot 4008. On the whole, compared with the ordinary version, the new car has more personality in appearance design and corresponding improvement in configuration. However, in terms of the price of new cars, the competition in the compact SUV market is relatively fierce. The price range of new cars is between 17.07 yuan and 186700 yuan, and there are many products with the same price in the market, so there is competition in the market. The new car is expected to compete with Honda CR-V (16.98-276800 yuan), Ford Ruiji (16.98-218800 yuan) and Mazda CX-5 (175800-245800 yuan).

In the past 2021, Peugeot 4008 sold 9495 vehicles, second only to Peugeot (13086), according to the data. From January to May this year, Peugeot sold 5921 vehicles, which is currently the highest selling model of Dongfeng Peugeot 4008 (Peugeot 4008 sold 4851 vehicles). However, compared with similar models, Peugeot 4008 sold less than 6000 vehicles in five months, which is less than the monthly sales of mainstream models of the same class. The automobile industry is concerned that the main reason for the low sales of Dongfeng Peugeot models in China is the lack of popular products.
