Toyota China responded to an overseas recall of its new electric car bZ4X model on June 23. The bZ4X, a medium-sized pure electric SUV owned by Toyota, is produced and sold by FAW Toyota and Guangzhou Auto Toyota in Chinese mainland. The new car is based on the e-TNGA architecture and is positioned as a medium-sized pure electric SUV. It will provide both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive power. The pre-price of the new car was previously announced at 22-300000 yuan.

FAW Toyota bZ4X and Guangzhou Automobile Toyota bZ4X are basically the same in appearance, interior decoration and power, except for different vehicle configuration names. In terms of appearance, as a newly developed pure electric, the whole vehicle design language is completely different from the Toyota oil model on sale, the closed middle net is matched with the extremely radical penetrating type C headlamp group, and the lower encirclement adopts the penetrating styling design. the overall shape is very scientific and technological. In the rear part, the new car is equipped with popular through taillights, and the black encirclement of the bottom area further enhances the sense of movement of the rear. In terms of interior decoration, the design of the two models is the same, with a 12.3-inch full LCD dashboard, a special-shaped steering wheel appears only on the top model, and the large-size steering wheel of an ordinary model is also featured by a variety of function buttons. In addition, the dashboard and the central control screen are not on the same level at all, showing a different sense of hierarchy.

The source said that this may be due to the design of the power supply temperature control mechanism, because the heating power is not enough to meet the working temperature requirements of the battery in the cold environment, resulting in failure. If the news is true, it is a design error and a low-level mistake. However, as the battery suppliers of the Chinese version are different from the overseas version, it is not known whether the defect is a special case of the Chinese version or an overall design error. Toyota's Chinese version of bz4X will not be available until this defect is resolved. However, Toyota did not publicly respond to the news.
