AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)07/03 Report--
A new generation of BMW 7-series and all-electric i7 will be officially launched at the Dingolfen plant, and the new cars will be co-produced in BMW 5-series, 8-series and iX models, according to BMW official news on July 3. It is understood that the Dingefen factory is the largest production base of the BMW Group in Europe, with about 1600 BMW 4-Series, 5-Series, 6-Series, 7-Series, 8-Series and iX coming off the line every day, with an output of about 245000 vehicles in 2021. BMW has invested more than 300 million euros in the factory in order to produce a new generation of 7-Series and i7 models. With the new cars coming off the line, 1/4 products produced by the factory will be pure electric models.
Integrated automotive industry concerns earlier reported that the new BMW 7-Series and BMW i7 models have been unveiled in China, BMW officials said that the first batch of models will be delivered to dealers for static display and test drive, and delivery will begin this autumn. As a reference, the current domestic market guidance price of the BMW 7-Series is 82.8-2.612 million yuan, and the price of the new car is expected to be close to that of the current model.
As the seventh generation product of BMW 7 Series, the new car is based on the new generation CLAR architecture and has great changes in appearance and interior. Specifically, the front face of the new car retains the design concept of double-kidney grille, and adopts split headlamps, in which the upper two-stage daytime driving lights are crystal clear, and the lower far and near light groups are integrated with the bumper when the state is off. This design style is basically the same as the medium-term modified BMW X7. On the side of the body, the new car has a similar slip-back styling design and an embedded door handle similar to the BMW iX. In the rear part, the new car has also changed in detail, using a narrower taillight group shape and a hidden exhaust layout.
In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 5391/1950/1548mm and the wheelbase is 3215mm. As a comparison, the length, width and height of the current model are 5273/1902/1498mm and the wheelbase is 3210mm, respectively. The size of the new car has been improved in all aspects, especially the length of the car has increased by 118mm, and the width and height has also increased by about 50mm.
In the interior part, the new car uses a double screen design composed of 12.3 inches and 14.9 inches, and the number of physical buttons has been greatly reduced. Compared with the central console of the current model, the new car also uses a large number of crystal accessories to enhance the sense of luxury.
In terms of power, the new car will be available in fuel version, pure electric version (BMW i7) and plug-in hybrid version for consumers to choose from. Among them, the fuel version of the BMW 7-Series will be equipped with a 3.0T in-line six-cylinder turbocharged engine (B58) and the new V8 engine, the 3.0T engine will be available in high and low power versions, and the 4.4T V8 engine will be upgraded based on the current N63 engine. The transmission system will still match the eight-speed manual transmission. The pure electric version of the BMW i7 is equipped with the fifth generation eDrive electric drive system, with a pure electric range of more than 600km, a dual-motor version of the maximum power 400kw, acceleration time of 0-100km / h is 4.7s, and the lowest energy consumption of 100km is 18.4kWh (the above data are European specifications, Chinese models are subject to listing announcement).
In terms of market competition, the new car will compete with Mercedes-Benz S-Class (vehicle price is 91.78-1.8388 million yuan) and Audi A8L (vehicle price is 85.88-1.9718 million yuan). Data show that the number of Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7-Series and Audi A8L in the domestic market in 2021 are 23456, 22287 and 15646 respectively. From January to May this year, the cumulative sales of the three were 9981, 5764 and 4729 respectively. According to the data, there is a big gap between BMW 7-Series sales and Mercedes-Benz S-Class sales. It is not clear whether the new generation of BMW 7-Series will make a difference when it goes public. According to BMW's plan, BMW expects to launch 12 pure electric models in China by 2023, covering almost all current market segments, and deliver 2 million pure electric vehicles worldwide by 2025. And at least 1/4 of the cars sold in China will be pure electric vehicles, and 10 million pure electric vehicles will be delivered worldwide by 2030.
It should be noted that as the pure electric version of the new BMW 7-Series, the BMW i7 is basically the same as the fuel version in appearance and interior, and the competitors will still be the old rival Mercedes-Benz EQS (107.96-1.5186 million yuan) and the Audi Grandsphereproduction model that will be put into production in the future. A few days ago, the original BMW i3 pure electric model, which represents the beginning of the BMW iSeries, was officially suspended at the BMW Leipzig plant. Official figures show that the car sold a total of 250000 vehicles from launch to stop production. The official launch of the BMW i7 also means that it will be a new beginning of the BMW I-series.
According to public data, BMW Group's global cumulative sales of 596907 new cars (including MINI and Rolls-Royce) in the first quarter of this year were down 6.2% from a year earlier, of which 208507 vehicles (including MINI brands) were sold in China, down 9.2% from a year earlier, surpassing Mercedes-Benz and Audi.
