On July 8th, Great Wall Motor announced its production and sales of KuaiBao in June. Data show that Great Wall sold 101186 vehicles in June, up 0.52 per cent from 100664 in the same period last year and 26.38 per cent month-on-month. The cumulative sales of Great Wall cars from January to June this year were 518525, down 16.12% from the same period last year.
In terms of brands, the Harvard brand, a key pillar of Great Wall sales, sold only 51274 vehicles in June, down 14.47 per cent from a year earlier. In terms of models, the official did not announce the sales of specific models. At present, the Harvard brand's main selling models include Harvard H6, Harvard Dog, Harvard Divine Beast, Harvard Red Rabbit, Harvard first Love and Harvard H9. According to the data released by the FIFA, the "National Warrior car" H6 fell to the altar, with sales of 21040 vehicles in June, ranking fourth on the June SUV sales list, down 21.4% from the same period last year. Overall, Harvard's performance from January to June was very mediocre, with cumulative sales of 288903 vehicles from January to June, down 26.21% from 391541 in the first six months of 2021.
The WEY brand was the biggest decline in Great Wall sales in June, with sales of 2887 vehicles in June, down 38.67 per cent from a year earlier. According to the attention of the automobile industry, the Great Wall WEY brand was founded in 2016, and the models currently on sale include VV5, VV6, VV7, Mocha, Macchiato, latte and so on. Among them, VV5, VV6 and VV7 are the earliest models launched by the brand. In 2017, WEY relies on VV7 and VV5 models to achieve annual sales of 86000 vehicles. WEY VV6 officially launched in August 2018, the WEY family product camp has been further enriched, and the annual sales of that year also increased to 139500 vehicles. After that, WEY sales began to decline, with WEY sales of 100000 in 2019 and 78500 in 2020. WEY sales in the past 2021 totaled 58363, down 25.56% from a year earlier, making it the only brand under Great Wall to decline. At present, the products of the WEY brand are mainly coffee series products. Although the VV series models are still on sale, there are no specific sales figures. From January to June this year, the cumulative sales of the WEY brand reached 21985 vehicles, down 4.35% from the same period last year.
Sales of the Euler brand in June were 11516, up 6.72% from the same period last year. Since the suspension of sales of Euler Black Cat and Euler White Cat, Euler good Cat has become the only model on sale for Euler cars, that is to say, Euler's sales composition mainly comes from Euler good Cats. However, Euler's brand new model, Euler Ballet Cat, is expected to go on sale on the 12th of this month. The new car is based on the Great Wall lemon platform, positioning compact pure electric vehicles, a total of four models, mainly aimed at female users, the current pre-sale of the new car is 193000-223000 yuan.
According to the sales figures released by Great Wall, the biggest increase in June was the tank brand, which sold 14258 vehicles in June, up 99.13% from a year earlier, and the increase may still come from tank 300 models. Tank 300 is the first hardline cross-country SUV launched by the Great Wall WEY brand. It officially went on sale in December 2020, with a vehicle price of 19.58-308000 yuan. Since the tank brand launched the 300 model, the tank brand model has attracted the attention of the public. Even subject to the impact of the epidemic and chip environment, its delivery volume continues to increase. According to the concerned statistics of the automobile industry, from January to June this year, the cumulative sales of tank brands were 54094, an increase of 63.56% over the same period last year. Among them, the cumulative sales of tank 300 models were 48819, and the basic monthly sales were maintained at more than 5000. In addition, the cumulative sales of tank 500s since the launch in March is 5275.
According to the plan, Great Wall Motor has an annual sales target of 1.9 million vehicles this year. According to this calculation, as of June this year, Great Wall Motor has achieved only 27.3% of its annual sales target, which means that Great Wall Motor needs to complete 72.7% of its sales in the remaining six months. Although the major brands of Great Wall will launch a variety of models this year, such as Tank 500, Wei Brand Dream, Harvard Cool Dog, Harvard H6 hybrid, Euler Ballet Cat, Lightning Cat, Punk Cat and so on, but the sales of the listed models such as Tank 500 are very mediocre. The once-glorious Harvard H6 model has also fallen to the altar, under such circumstances, it is really difficult, even a little "radical" for Great Wall to achieve its goal of 1.9 million vehicles. Of course, it remains to be seen whether Great Wall will eventually achieve its sales target of 1.9 million vehicles this year.
