In fact, Toyota has faced shutdowns and production cuts almost every month since this year, especially since March, mostly due to disruptions in the supply of spare parts caused by the epidemic. Despite repeated shutdowns and production cuts, Feng Toyota has repeatedly stressed that "the target of pre-production of about 9.7 million vehicles in fiscal year 2022" remains unchanged. According to foreign media reports, Toyota / Lexus Group's current actual production is nearly 400000 vehicles less than expected. In order to achieve the expected 9.7 million vehicles in 2022, at least 840000 new cars need to be produced every month from July 2022. This also means that Toyota / Lexus will face greater production pressure in the coming months.

So far, Toyota has suspended orders for a number of models due to short supply and capacity restrictions. And Lexus, as a high-end brand of Toyota, it is not difficult to draw from the official statement of Lexus that Lexus is still in a shortage of chips and parts, and the reason why Lexus NX suspends receiving orders in the Japanese market is also due to insufficient production caused by chip shortage and supply constraints caused by COVID-19 's epidemic.

Lexus NX is one of the best-selling Lexus models. Data show that the cumulative sales of Lexus NX in China were 39589 in 2018, 38456 in 2019, 35230 in 2020 and 36470 in 2021. According to previous reports concerned by the automotive industry, in the domestic market, the new generation of Lexus NX was unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show in 2021.
