The vehicle identification code, commonly known as "frame number" or "VIN" in English, is regarded as "the ID card of the car". Usually, it can be seen from the small window of the front windshield of the car, the door frame of the driver's door, the engine and the driving book. The number of the vehicle identification number is composed of 17 characters, including the manufacturer, production age, model, body type and code, engine code and assembly location of the vehicle. On July 11, a car owner, Ms. Zhong, responded to the media that an accident occurred when a newly purchased BYD new energy car was ready to be licensed, and the new car unexpectedly carried a "car ID card."

According to the "1818 Golden Eye" media report, Ms. Zhong bought a BYD new energy car in June and went to license it not long ago and found that the new car had two ID cards. Ms. Zhong described that the frame number of the windshield and the door of the copilot have nameplates, and the two nameplates are different. In theory, a car has only one "car ID card", and it is impossible to have two different nameplates. Specifically, Ms. Zhong's BYD EV nameplate is located at the bottom of the co-driver's frame, followed by the identification code 2N1095507, but the identification code on the front shield, on the trunk, and under the passenger seat is 9N1095570. The car failed to be put on because the nameplate did not match. The car was bought in Zhejiang Dixin Automobile sales and Service Co., Ltd., which puzzled Ms. Zhong. For this reason, Ms. Zhong found the 4S store. But the explanation is: "the manufacturer posted it wrong, I will post another one for you casually, and you can go to sign up." to this view, Ms. Zhong did not agree, and put forward the request to return or change the car.

To this appeal, the 4S store said that even if the manufacturer is not responsible, the car owner will change the car, but want to reduce the loss, it depends on the proportion of the loss fee from the manufacturer. Later, when Ms. Zhong came to the 4S store, the 4S store said that the 4S store could not lose too much. Ms. Zhong thought that there were different opinions before and after the 4S store.

Wang, deputy general manager of Zhejiang Dixin Automobile sales and Service Co., Ltd., said that after the incident, he had approached the manufacturer to understand the specific situation. He explained: "after background verification, because the nameplate is a paper nameplate, it may be pasted wrong or reversed, and it will be reissued to us as soon as possible. After this incident came out, we did make mistakes. If we came from the store, the salesman did not carefully check the car before it was delivered to the customer, which caused such a mistake. We do apologize to the customer in this respect."

As for the statement that the person in charge of the store explained to Ms. Zhong that the vehicle could be replaced, Deputy General Manager Wang said: "it was indeed mentioned, but they later learned that Ms. Zhong's car had been in danger. The car had an accident before the license plate, and the insurance claim has been settled. We also went to ask the market about the car's quotation. If there is no accident, we go to deal with such a car, because there is no license plate, but the insurance is done. We can lose less than that, but if an accident occurs, the size of the accident will be different, which will have an impact on the resale price of (second-hand) cars. "

So far, in view of the above incident, the two sides have not reached an agreement. Ms. Zhong said that she will consult a lawyer about the handling of the car, and then inform the 4S store of its own demands. Zhejiang Dixin 4S store said it would communicate with the manufacturer to give Ms. Zhong the relevant compensation plan before July 13.
