According to car concern, GAC-Mitsubishi's new generation of Outlander has appeared in the latest declaration catalogue of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the new car is expected to be on the market this year. According to previous reports, the new car is based on the Renault-Nissan CMF CD platform, developed on the same platform as Nissan's new Qijun, and may be powered by a 1.5T four-cylinder engine.

The new car has been officially unveiled at the 2022 Chongqing Auto Show, combined with the latest declaration information, the appearance of the new car basically continues the overseas version of the model design style, but by contrast, the overall shape of the new car is stronger. Specifically, the front face part, the new car uses the "Dynamic Shield" family design language, the forward gas grille is divided into two parts, in which the upper part uses a horizontal chromium plating strip, the bottom is a full black honeycomb design, and the net uses three amplitude chromium plating and honeycomb matching, showing an "X" style as a whole. The headlight group adopts a split design, while the far and near light group is integrated with the front surround, making the whole look thick and heavy.

On the side of the car body, the A column of the new car is painted in bright black, and the roof creates a suspended atmosphere. In the rear part, the new car is equipped with a two-color roof spoiler, the taillight group is relatively narrow and uses a black lampshade, and the long strip shape of the internal LED also has a good recognition after lighting.

In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4710/1862/1740mm, wheelbase is 2706mm, positioning compact SUV. As a comparison, the cash in the sale of Eurand length, width and height is 4705/1810/1710mm, wheelbase is 2670mm, by contrast, the new car has been improved in all aspects. In terms of seat layout, the new car offers two options: 5-seat version and 7-seat version.

The interior part has not been officially announced yet. As a reference, overseas models use currently popular automobile interior design elements such as suspended multimedia display screen, small-size electronic shift lever and hidden air conditioning outlet. It is expected that the domestic version will continue the main interior design of the overseas version of the new Outlander, but adjustments should also be made in the details.

In terms of power, it is expected that the new car will be equipped with a 1.5T four-cylinder engine + 48V light mixing system, transmission part, matching CVT gearbox. For comparison, overseas models are powered by a Nissan PR25DD 2.5L naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine.

The new generation of domestic Olander models is the fourth generation of the Olander series. As early as February last year, the new generation of Olander was first released overseas. After its domestic launch, the new car will compete with other joint venture compact SUV models such as Honda CR-V (169800-276800 yuan), Toyota RAV4 Rongfang (175800-260800 yuan) and Nissan Qijun (181900-2629 yuan).

Olande model as the main sales force of Mitsubishi car SUV, the automotive industry attention has introduced the background of this model in detail. Outlander, a full-time all-round car imported and manufactured by Beijing Gyibug Automobile Co., Ltd. from Mitsubishi in Japan, was first put into the Chinese market in January 2004. then it was put into the domestic market, but it was made domestically and sold in China after the establishment of GAC-Mitsubishi (after 2012). Data show that GAC-Mitsubishi sold 43035 vehicles, 63199 vehicles, 56317 vehicles and 55888 vehicles respectively from 2013 to 2016. On September 24, 2016, GAC-Mitsubishi Outlander was officially listed in China. The domestic Olander basically copied the imported version of the shape, and only upgraded the configuration. In spite of this, the listing of domestic Olander has brought greater sales growth for GAC-Mitsubishi. GAC-Mitsubishi sold 117388 vehicles in 2017, up 110.04% from the same period last year, while GAC-Mitsubishi sold 144018 vehicles in 2018, up 22.69% from the same period last year. However, due to the single model of GAC-Mitsubishi, the overall market performance of GAC-Mitsubishi is not ideal, and then GAC-Mitsubishi successively introduced Yige, Jinxuan and other products, but the increase in the number of models did not make the sales of GAC-Mitsubishi better. GAC-Mitsubishi accumulated sales of 133016 vehicles in 2019, down 7.64% from the same period last year; GAC-Mitsubishi accumulated sales of 75001 vehicles in 2020, down 43.62% from the same period last year; and GAC-Mitsubishi accumulated sales of 66006 vehicles in 2021, down 11.99% from the same period last year. GAC-Mitsubishi sales data for three consecutive years from 2019 to 2021 have declined to varying degrees.

GAC GROUP said in an interview with the media that the biggest problem Mitsubishi is currently facing is a single product, and the upgrading of its models will be accelerated in 2022. At the same time, GAC will strengthen its joint venture cooperation and communication with Mitsubishi to promote the development of GAC-Mitsubishi in two to three years. On March 23 this year, Guangzhou Auto-Mitsubishi's first pure electric SUV Atuco officially launched, positioning the compact SUV, a total of two models with a price range of 19.98-229800 yuan. As for the market performance of the new generation of Euroland after listing, it is not yet clear.

According to wholesale sales data disclosed by GAC GROUP, cumulative sales from January to June this year were 13748, down 54.18% from a year earlier, including 1806 in June, down 62.4% over the same period, and less than 2000 for three consecutive months. With cumulative sales of 17169 vehicles from January to June this year, Olander is still the main source of sales of GAC-Mitsubishi, while the cumulative sales of other models are less than 1,000, such as Mitsubishi Jinxuan with only 977 and Yige with only 775.
