The reason for the recall is that part of the vehicle power battery pack tray has the risk of water intake, which may cause the arc of the high voltage system and the hidden danger of safety. In view of the above defects, BYD Automotive Industry Co., Ltd. will entrust an authorized dealer to inspect the vehicles within the recall scope, and replace the battery pack free of charge if there is leakage or uneven installation surface of the tray breathable valve.

This may cause the electrical circuit failure of the power battery system, in extreme cases, there is a risk of thermal runaway of the power battery, and there is a hidden danger of safety.

Tang DM is one of BYD's sales models, positioning medium-sized SUV, a total of six different configuration models, the vehicle price is 205800-289800 yuan. According to the data released by the Federation of passengers, the cumulative sales of BYD Tang DM from April to April 2021 were 81211, including 44464 from April to December in 2021 and 36747 from January to April in 2022. The recall is based on the recall issued on April 29, which means that BYD has recalled a total of 62591 vehicles, accounting for 77 per cent of total sales.
