Brilliance BMW Automobile Co., Ltd., and BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the Administration of defective Automobile products recall and the measures for the implementation of defective Automobile products recall, filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration, recalling the following vehicles from September 9, 2022.

Brilliance BMW recalled a total of 57480 5-series plug-in hybrid vehicles manufactured from November 10, 2016 to August 28, 2020.

BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. recalled a total of 364 7-series plug-in hybrid vehicles manufactured from June 29, 2016 to January 18, 2018.

The reason for the recall is that due to the design of the rear brush bracket of the starter, when the starter runs for too long and causes internal overheating, the copper wire inside the brush bracket may be fused. In extreme cases, it will lead to a fire in the components around the starter, resulting in safety risks.

In view of the above defects, brilliance BMW Co., Ltd., BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. will replace the improved rear starter brush bracket for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge to eliminate safety risks.

The current BMW 5-Series was launched in 2004, and the new BMW 5-Series was listed at the 2020 Beijing International Auto Show on September 26, 2020. at present, the price of the BMW 5-Series is 43.39-551900 yuan. Sales of the BMW 5-Series were 143,170 in 2016, 121000 in 2017, 133110 in 2018, 135897 in 2019, 134547 in 2020 and 149153 in 2021, according to the Federation of passengers.
