The new car is a pure electric car produced in China based on the EVA platform and built on the same platform as the Mercedes-Benz EQS, so the appearance and interior of the new car also continue the design style of EQS. The front face adopts the fully closed design that is popular in pure electric models, the headlights are connected to the net, and the middle part is made of a whole black panel with Mercedes-Benz's iconic logo inside. The overall shape of the new car on the side of the body is round and full. in terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4969/1906/1509mm, the wheelbase is 3120mm, and the positioning is medium and large pure electric car. In the rear part, the rear part of the new car uses through-type taillights, the rear surround is decorated with chrome-plated strips, and below is a decorative panel similar to the shape of a diffuser.

In terms of power, the three models of the new car are all single-motor rear-drive models, with the maximum power of permanent magnet synchronous motor (215kW), the maximum torque of 530N ·m and zero acceleration of 6.7s. The new car is also equipped with a NCM811 battery pack with a capacity of 96.1kWh, which lasts for 712km and 752km respectively under CLTC conditions.

At present, Mercedes-Benz has four pure electric models in China: EQA, EQB, EQC and EQS, of which EQA, EQB and EQC are all oil-to-electric models, and only Mercedes-Benz EQS is built on a pure electric platform. Mercedes-Benz EQS launched on December 17 last year, a total of four models, positioning luxury large pure electric sedan, the price is 107.96-1.5186 million, and although the EQE can also be regarded as the E-class electric version, but the styling of the car is significantly different from the fuel version.

On May 19 this year, Mercedes-Benz announced its new product strategic plan. Mercedes-Benz said that it would replan its product matrix and divide the existing models into three major product matrices: high-end luxury, core luxury and new-generation luxury. The core luxury product lineup includes the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and E-Class families and their derivative models, which will assume the most important source of sales of the Mercedes-Benz brand in the future. although Mercedes-Benz has launched a number of pure electric vehicle products in the field of electric vehicles, the model sales data are general. Data show that in the first half of this year, the cumulative sales of EQA, EQB and EQC were 1738, 2249 and 2025 respectively. Industry insiders believe that the new EQE may become the main model of the core luxury lineup of the Mercedes-Benz brand.

According to the plan, Mercedes-Benz plans to stop selling fuel vehicles by 2030, that is, new car sales in 2030 will basically be transformed into pure electric models, and this year will launch 21 new products, including 8 pure electric and plug-in hybrid models. After that, Mercedes-Benz will also accelerate the transformation of electric products to launch medium and large pure electric vehicle architecture platform EVA2 and MB.EA model architecture platform. The models involved include the brand-new EQE, the brand-new EQE pure electric SUV and the brand-new models specially designed for the domestic market for the medium and large pure electric vehicle architecture platform EVA2.

As far as the current BBA market is concerned, the three German luxury brands, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi, have all accelerated the pace of electrification, while the Mercedes-Benz brand has advanced relatively fast in the electrification transformation. Data show that in the first quarter of this year, the global cumulative sales of Mercedes-Benz pure electric and plug-in hybrid models were 67800, an increase of 37 per cent year-on-year, accounting for 15 per cent of total sales. Of these, the cumulative global sales of pure electric vehicles were 21900, up 210 per cent from the same period last year, and the cumulative global sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles were 45900, up 8 per cent from the same period last year. As for the latest second quarter, official figures show that Mercedes-Benz-EQ products achieved 28% month-on-month growth.
