The new car, which offers only one model with an advance price of 400000 yuan, is expected to go on sale in September. As the first MPV model of the Red Flag HQ series, the new car positioning luxury medium and large MPV, after listing, will compete with GL8, Sena and other models.

In terms of appearance, the new car adopts the typical family design style of Red Flag, the front face uses a large area of straight waterfall front grille, the iconic red flag LOGO in the center of the grille extends from above the hood to the inside of the grille, with split headlights on both sides, the overall visual effect is very solemn and majestic. On the side of the body, the lines of the new car are smooth, using double waistline design and adding a large number of chrome-plated decoration, showing a trend of high in front and low in back. in details, the handles of the front door and the side sliding door connect with each other, and the overall coordination is strong. In the rear part, the new car still adopts the red flag family design tone, the new car rear part adopts the popular penetrating taillight group, which is combined with the vertical taillight, and the taillight is decorated with chromium plating in the middle of the taillight, which increases the hierarchical and timely sense of the new car, the roof is the spoiler of the hollowed-out design, and the hidden exhaust layout is adopted under the rear. Overall, the styling design of the new car is more recognizable than the common MPV models on the market.

In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car is 5222/2005/1892mm, the wheelbase is 3200mm, and the positioning is medium and large MPV. Compared with the current mainstream high-end MPV model size, the new car has more advantages. For comparison, the length, width and height of Buick GL8 Avenir is 5219/1878/1799mm and wheelbase is 3099mm, and that of Toyota is 5085/1984/1796mm and wheelbase 3030mm respectively.

In the interior part, the overall layout of the new car is relatively simple, equipped with a traditional three-frame steering wheel and a standard full liquid crystal dashboard, while the middle suspension central control screen adopts a rectangular design, which forms an inverted ladder-shaped layout with the front lever below. In the seat layout, the new car provides a 2-2-3 seven-seat layout, the second row uses two separate seats, and the third row seats use electric adjustment function.

In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with a 2.0T turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 180kW and a transmission matching 8AT gearbox. It is reported that the new car will also launch a PHEV version for consumers to choose from, but the specific power parameters are not known. Considering the positioning and pre-sale price of the new car, the new car will compete with GL8, Sena, Lantu Dreamer, Tengli D9 and other models after its launch.

As far as the current mainstream MPV models are concerned, the best-selling models on the market include Buick GL8, Sena, Chuanqi M8, Dongfeng Lingzhi, Honda Odyssey and other models. Take the MPV sales list in the first half of this year as an example, the top five MPV models include Buick GL8, Sena, Chuanqi M8, Dongfeng Lingzhi and Honda Odyssey, with sales of 61442, 34046, 28954, 21334 and 21322 respectively. Generally speaking, the volume of the current MPV market is still relatively small, but at present, many domestic automobile brands have begun to lay out the MPV market. On May 7 this year, Lantu Motors' first MPV model, the Lantu Dreamer, was officially put on the market. The car is located in a large MPV with a price range of 36.99-439900 yuan. On May 16th, Tengli D9, the first medium-and large-scale luxury MPV model under Tengli Automobile, was officially unveiled and announced that the pre-price was 33.5-445000 yuan. In addition, FAW Toyota's new MPV "GRANVIA" (the Chinese name of the new car may be named Grevia) has also appeared in the declaration catalogue of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, which means that the car will be officially launched soon. As these new cars appear on the market to further improve the MPV market models, it is unclear whether these models will be popular on the market.

Public data show that the best selling models of FAW Red Flag this year are Red Flag HS5 and Red Flag H5, with cumulative sales of 58675 and 33215 respectively in the first half of the year. With the launch of new cars such as Red Flag H5, Red Flag LS7 and Red Flag HQ9, the product rectangle of FAW Red Flag will be more perfect, and the annual sales target of 450000-500000 vehicles of FAW Red Flag in 2022 will also be further improved.
