Evergrande is likely to be acquired by another car company, according to Interface News, citing people familiar with the matter. Reported that the lead party may be the local government, the merger and acquisition is a government action, the parties are still in a stalemate.

The so-called M & A refers to mergers and acquisitions, in which two or more independent enterprises merge to form a new enterprise, usually by a dominant company to absorb one or more companies. The essence of M & An is a kind of right transfer behavior carried out by each right subject according to the institutional arrangement made by the enterprise property right in the process of the enterprise control right movement.

According to people familiar with the matter, Evergrande is currently the only factory in Tianjin that has the production qualification, and the Hengchi 5 model being pre-sold is produced here. Last week, the purchase of Evergrande financial management, real estate and Hengchi suppliers entered the final assembly workshop of Hengchi's Tianjin factory to safeguard its rights, resulting in a production shutdown, and the Tianjin factory will also stop work today because of insufficient materials. It has been more than half a year since Hengchi's five first cars went offline, but the Tianjin factory only produces about 200 Hengchi cars.

People familiar with the matter said that now all suppliers are not willing to cooperate with Evergrande, and now Evergrande has to pay full money first when it goes to talk to anyone. At present, whether Evergrande will be acquired or not is still an open question, but for Evergrande, there does not seem to be much room to move. Compared with the financial problem, what is more serious is the supply chain crisis after the credit bankruptcy.

China Evergrande and Evergrande Automobile have not responded to the relevant reports of "Interface News".

With the group debt crisis and Evergrande's continued losses, China Evergrande announced that "it is in contact with several potential independent third-party investors to discuss the sale of some of the company's assets. Including, but not limited to, the sale of China Evergrande New Energy Automobile Group Co., Ltd., a listed subsidiary of the company." However, no substantial progress has been made in this discussion, and in the context of Evergrande's deep debt crisis, the new energy vehicle business is gradually regarded by Evergrande as a "sharp weapon" to turn the tide. And continue to sell its assets to seek more possibilities for automobile mass production, and even "formulate" the industrial transformation from real estate to new energy vehicles in the next 10 years. Evergrande's transformation from real estate to new energy vehicles is a helpless move, but only if Evergrande succeeds, can it be saved. On January 1, Hengchi's five first cars officially went off the line. On March 22, Evergrande New Energy Automobile Group held a mobilization meeting entitled "working hard for three months to achieve Hengchi 5 production". On July 6, Hengchi 5 officially opened the pre-sale, the new car launched only one model, and the deluxe version was pre-sold for 179000 yuan.

On July 20, Hengchi held its first "Hengchi Festival" and announced the pre-sale of Hengchi 5: as of 19:00 that day, the pre-sale order of Hengchi 5 was 37296 vehicles. It is worth mentioning that there may be some moisture in Hengchi 5 over 37000 units orders. Evergrande property held an internal meeting in July and issued Hengchi 5 sales assessment tasks, which were subdivided into each project by each major region. the specific sales assessment indicators will be determined according to the number of owners in the community. At present, consumers are still skeptical about Hengchi. As for how many Hengchi 5 units have been sold, how much the terminal market accounts for, and how many Evergrande owners account for, I am afraid only Hengchi knows inside!

At present, what Evergrande lacks most is money, and any problem that can be solved with money is a problem for Evergrande. Of course, will Evergrande be acquired? Who is "another car company"? If Evergrande is acquired, how can users who have booked Hengchi 5 protect their rights and interests? That's what we want to know.

In March 2021, Evergrande said at its 2020 performance conference that the company had invested a total of 47.4 billion yuan in the new energy vehicle industry, including 24.9 billion yuan in vehicle R & D and design, and 22.5 billion yuan in the construction of a car plant. if you include the sales and administrative expenses in the first half of 2021, Evergrande has "burned" more than 50 billion yuan in the new energy vehicle business. According to the semi-annual report, Evergrande posted a net loss of 4.821 billion yuan in the first half of 2021, up 96.25% from 2.456 billion yuan in the same period last year.

So far, China's Evergrande and Evergrande cars have been suspended because they failed to release their financial results on time. According to the relevant rules, HKEx ownership delisting of any listed company that has been suspended for 18 consecutive months, in the case of Evergrande, the 18-month period will expire on September 20, 2023. If the matters leading to the suspension and the requirements of the resumption guidelines are not corrected, and share trading resumes before September 20, 2023, HKEx will recommend that the listing Committee start the process of delisting Evergrande's listing status.
