On August 26th, at the Chengdu Auto Show, Harvard officially unveiled its new "dog line" car, the Harvard H-DOG. If nothing happens, the new car will become the third new car after the Harvard Dog and Havercool Dog.

In terms of appearance, the new car continues the family styling design, and the overall shape of the new car is highly similar to the hard design style of the Harvard Dog, but it is more of a hard cross-country flavor than the Harvard Dog. Specifically, the front face of the new car uses a polygonal intake grille, and the dense chrome-plated decoration around the middle grid is relatively novel, with the family's iconic round design of headlights on both sides and round LED daytime driving lights inside. The center is a blue background Harvard English LOGO, and equipped with the Harvard brand's latest release of LOGO, the shape is more flat, highly recognizable, but also more youthful.

The new car has strong lines and square shape on the side of the body, and adopts a rugged retro design style as a whole, showing a hard-line effect in the visual effect. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car is 4705/1908/1780mm, the wheelbase is 2810mm, and the positioning is medium-sized SUV, which is larger than that of Big Dog and KuGou currently on sale. For comparison, the length, width and height of Haverdog are 4620/1890/1780mm, wheelbase is 2738mm, positioning compact SUV; is 4520/1875/1745mm, wheelbase 2710mm, positioning compact SUV. In the rear part, the shape of the new car taillight echoes with the headlights, and the rear part is marked with "DHT" to improve the vehicle identification rate.

In the interior, the new car has a brand new layout, with a large leather package, a 12.3-inch dashboard and a 14.6-inch floating central control screen, with a row of physical buttons at the bottom.

The power part is the biggest bright spot of the new car, which adopts electric power system and belongs to plug-in hybrid model. The Harvard H-DOG will be equipped with a 1.5T engine + 2-gear DHT-PHEV powertrain with a maximum power of 240kW and a peak torque of 530Nm, with a range of 50-150km depending on the model.

According to the concern of the automobile industry, Harvard, founded on March 29, 2013, is one of the subsidiary brands of Great Wall and the sales pillar of many brands of Great Wall. On March 29, 2013, Great Wall Motors announced that as a symbol of Great Wall, Harvard will now separate its brand from Great Wall to form an independent brand, independent design and development, and establish its own independent distribution service system. On August 10, the second model of the Harvard Dog series, the Haverku Dog, was officially launched, with a total of 4 models in the price range of 12.38-149800 yuan. In terms of power, the whole department is equipped with a 1.5T engine, which is divided into two versions: the cool version and the tone version are equipped with low power engine, the maximum power is 110kW, the maximum torque is 218N ·m; the tide version and tide version are equipped with high power engine, the maximum power is 135kW, and the maximum torque is 275N ·m. In terms of transmission, the whole system is equipped with a 7-block double-clutch gearbox, the Chaoye version is also equipped with a timely four-wheel drive system, and the other three models are two-wheel drive.

At the beginning of its launch, Haverdog received good traffic and good sales performance as a result of its naming campaign, with annual sales of 100690 Haverdogs in 2021, according to the data. From January to July this year, the cumulative sales of Harvard dogs were 52542, of which 10072 were sold in July, second only to Harvard H6 and 3297 in July.

According to the Harvard brand's previous new car plan, in addition to the Harvard Dog and Havercool Dog, the future Harvard Dog series will also launch a total of seven models, including small SUV, medium-sized SUV and medium-to-large SUV. According to the automotive industry's attention from the State Trademark Office, Great Wall Motor has declared trademarks such as Harvard bounty Hound, Harvard Dog, Harvard violent Dog and other trademarks. At present, the brand new model Harvard H-Dog is the English name of the car, but the Chinese name has not been announced.
